Looks challenging. I am pretty much happier to attempt for Platinum for this game than Dead Space 3 due to Dead Space 3's ridiculous Hardcore mode.

You're joking right?

Beating Dead Space 3 on hardcore only sounds hard, in reality it's actually a pretty easy feat.

If you beat the game on Pure Survival you get a MK-II version of virtually every weapon part (for free and better than normal ones) right off the bat with a bunch of materials to start with.
You can upgrade any part of your rig for instant full health.
Since you have MK-II everything, you can use rations on the material packs.
Your friend can share with you their gear (not MK stuff though) and give you a bunch of medkits / weapon power ups.
You can make +2/+2 power ups by going into weapon crafting arena and leaving. (This can be done during chapter 2 or 3, so pretty early)
Doing the above will also glitch your game to have unlimited ammo.
There are several infinite material spawns.
You can back up your save to the cloud or USB.
Some people say you can restart from checkpoint online.
Weapon Crafting Arena can also be used to get items you need badly (so if you're running low on gear, just load that and buy some).
You can afk with scavenger bots for infinite materials.

So what about Hardcore sounds "ridiculous"?
