Ubisoft Shangai on Assassin's Creed III navy, "number one rule" was stick to Connor

Assassin's Creed III was an enormous effort spanning multiple development studios around the world. Ubisoft Shanghai, a relative newcomer, was tasked with taking Connor onto the high seas.

It required a lot of balancing, making sure it was authentic enough without being too realistic and therefore slow. The most important thing was getting to feel that we're playing as Connor, not the boat. (Assassin's Creed III, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
