Gameranx: "Blizzard has no plans to add rewards or tracking to improve the current, and arguably simplified PvP system."
Who says a dud game can't have a video game comeback?
Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.
Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.
Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?
Diablo III: Season 28 brings with it the Altar of Rites, an altar full of unlockable bonuses and potions that will require the gathering of tons of resources. One of things needed is the Staff of Herding, which also unlocks the famous Cow Level known as Whimsyshire. Here's how to craft that staff, for those that either have forgotten, or have never completed it.
And why would they need to do this? To reward the mentality of gamers that demand rewards for everything they do?
Please, spare me the reward. The glory of gloating in front of my friends for destroying them is more then enough reward, and more then enough incentive for my friends to keep playing to get more powerful.
What is this, I don't even...
First of all this is just a simple dueling mode for now. This isn't the major PVP they've been working on.
Cruckel, of course we feel great owning our friends. What people will want after all the glory is gone from brawling, is some kind of a ranking. People will stop brawling if there is nothing more than "bragging rights". I feel that What really needs to take place is some sort of real arena system. Just like Arenas in World Of Warcraft, you can be awarded points to get better gear. This can be just as easy as putting PVP type stats on Legendaries and sell those for full sets of gear. Of course an issue i could see is that there still is no other content. So players might feel this is the only endgame possible in Diablo 3. I think maybe the Expansion for diablo would be a type of MMO with added content. This is where I feel Diablo needs to go.
