Here is the first look at the final concept art for an upcoming baddie in God of War Ascension. (God of War: Ascension, PS3)

Nice, wondering how kratos is going to rip her apart.

piece by piece :P
Lockon  +   677d ago
He'll eat it.
Mounce  +   676d ago
@Lock0n To be honest, I've never seen Kratos eat at all. He can lift, but does he EVER eat?!

and no, eating pussy doesn't count.
KwietStorm  +   677d ago
You don't rip apart empusa. You caress empusa. You massage empusa. You put that empusa to sleep.
madpuppy  +   676d ago
Frankly, it looks like you boil Empusa until she is a bright red and server her with clarified butter...and a bib with a cartoon picture of Empusa on it.

probably the good ol' fashioned overkill :')

I love how GoW de-sexualizes nudity.

God of War is a great example of a mature game. It has violence and sex and gore, but it fits so well into the time piece and genre that it feels so natural and right. It's not beating a guy to death with a dildo or raping a chick or pissing on people like other games. I love this series and this game is going to be incredible.
KwietStorm  +   677d ago
Damn man what games are you playing?
Eldyraen  +   677d ago
@Kweitstorm: I know one is Saint's Row 3 as magazine ads showed the dildo sword--I didn't play it as just made it appear too juvenile in marketing campaign. No clue on others.
NukaCola  +   677d ago
I dont get the disagrees.

Saints Row has the dildos
Postal has pissing on people
Read Dead shows rape, and Custer's Revenge,
just examples..

Im just saying GOW is a great example of being a game for adults without being immature about it's content.

@Brash,

yeah Read Dead probably wasnt a good example. Heavy Rain touched a lot of those taboo subjects as well without being childish about it. But still, point being many M Rated titles are only that for their content and not because they are for a mature mind. I like games that feel like they were made for an intellectual grown up to enjoy.

But by no means am I knocking anything game related. I love tons of stuff. My current game me and my wife play is Borderlands 2. Love it. Love the silliness and mayhem and pretty much the whole package.

While I agree the dildo and pissing on people can be immature (but who was expecting Postal to be mature) I don't think rape in Red Dead was anything that shouldn't have been in there. It's not like it was a big goofy scene.

I feel as though RDR should be in your "mature game" category, too.

I do think that it's funny that an article below in the "related articles" section call "God of War: Ascension dev on gore and sexual content: We'll 'push the envelope as far as we can'". More related than it'll ever know.

Agree NukaCola. Back then orgies/sex was something normal and not taboo.

God of War is about as "mature" as [Protoype] was. It's an antisocial, power fantasy, gore-fest with a wrestler looking antihero protagonist.
Brash_Attack  +   676d ago
I would argue that your statement is backwards. Prototype is as mature as God of War. The first God of War beats the first Prototype by about 4 years.

I would argue that God of War almost started the popularity of the "antisocial, power fantasy, gore-fest with a wrestler looking antihero protagonist" type game.
Tontus  +   676d ago
Wow, you're an incredibly pretentious individual. It's anti-social? In your world, maybe. Power fantasy... what? Gore-fest... you do realise the games are set in the realm of ancient Greek Mythology, blood, gore, sex & violence were seen very differently to how they are now. The gore in the games are completely appropriate to the setting an story.

A wrestler looking protagonist? You are such a troll, I'd LOVE to see you design a better looking character who is 1/100th as beloved or popular as Kratos.

You're just an ignorant philistine, why do I waste my time on your kind...
jakmckratos  +   677d ago
Am I alone in thinking the furies looks really awful? They're just taking the motif theyof having titties on enemies they've done countless times and throwing them on whatever Greek monsters they want and add in a couple animal features. I just think the Greek mythology thing is tapped out...all the good stuff's been used up and I really hope Kratos moves on to God of War 4 in a new and FRESH mythology based on either the Norse or Egyptian pantheon. I just don't think there's too much left in Greece..they're already doing a Kraken-like boss again and the Furies are reminiscent of the sisters of fate. Give me Fenrir or an Ice dragon or the God Ra to fight...no more of this B-level shelved ideas.
Tontus  +   676d ago
Nonsense.
jakmckratos  +   672d ago
Truth.
jakmckratos  +   672d ago
I wouldnt even say my opinion but that's what David Jaffe said he wanted and I whole heartedly agree. Greece is done. I don't want to fight insect hybrid women with their boobs out. It's a little demeaning to think we want to fight female that have their boobs out. It's been done. Im not gonna get excited over boobs made from pixels no matter how stunning the graphics are. They are a weak main villain. I wanna fight Gods and mythical things from other mythologies and Id rather see the people behind God of War do this than a less capable developer. It's the only way to move forward in the series. Prequels are not as meaningful.

Of course the boobs are showing :)
