Dead Space 3 Review: In Space, There’s No Reason To Scream [SideQuesting]

Ryan Franklin of SideQuesting.com writes:

"Even without the horror you might hope for, Dead Space 3 is an enjoyable action-shooter with a few great moments of tension, including perhaps the greatest and most exhilarating final flight/fight since Half Life 2." (Dead Space 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 3/5

Bump the score up by .5 and I'll agree. :) It wasn't as good as ds1 or ds2 but I still enjoyed it.

Even though it did become more "shooty" there are still parts where I found the game extremely intense and I was hesitantly inching my way room to room - more specifically on the more challenging optional objectives.

Unless you define tense as cheap, overwhelming or easy to die, then I have no clue what you're talking about. Like during chapter 14 there are a bunch of enemy waves to deal with, which are more about tactics than being tense. Like when you get swarmed getting the 3rd (I think) ice block (avoiding spoilers), it is 700% easier to hang out next to the exit than slowly pick them off in the hallway. I recently pulled this off NO PROBLEM with just my planet cutter (playing classic mode), so imagine how easy it would have been with a force gun + planet cutter combo and statis or acid bullets... However I would consider these parts more annoying than cheap.
