MMA Fan-QC your right on the money. It takes a little bit of time. I have transferred tons of games to the PC and it is relatively quick to transfer from one device to the other.
THAT'S NOT THE ISSUE!!! The issue is making ALL DLC mandatory for download when you may not even buy it. MEMORY IS EXPENSIVE!!! Regardless of back-up, you still have to delete, you still have to move because ALL DLC UPDATES are required if you have DLC or not. It takes up space that is NEVER going to be used.
BUT I have to say, I do wish they'd compress content a little better. On the PSP when people made CSO's for UMDs they'd strip them for the region/language and then compress them. The firmware would then uncompress them on the fly. Many of them would be less than half the size of the original UMD content.
Some of these soft copies of games are just stupid big given how expensive Sony has priced the memory.
After I bought a soft copy of Resistance which is well over 3Gb, I realized my initial plan of going with soft copies of everything may have been flawed given the pricing of mem cards for this thing. LOL.
They need to compress their content better AND produce bigger and cheaper cards. They do not compete well on this front. I just bought a 64Gb card for my phone for $46.
IMHO, they need to lower the price for Vita memory even more than they need to lower the base system cost. It is absolutely exorbitant when you compare to other systems that are competing for consumer attention.
You have to bare in mind that these updated don't stack. The update incorporates all the other previous updates so it's not like a new LBP player would have to download a 500-600mb patch.
Having said that, I too have a practically full 32GB card. I hope during this big PlayStation announcement on the 20th they give us a firmware update to include folders. I hate the current bubble icon system. It's horrible to use when you have a lot of apps. Fingers crossed for cheaper and bigger memory cards too.
Agreed on all points. My 32gb card is full and I have to manage memory space on my Vita much more than I'd like. None of my other devices (except maybe my retarded ipad mini which is simply memory deficient and doesn't even take cards) require this kind of constant backup/delete something/add something type of loop I'm constantly stuck in on the Vita.
I would really like to have nearly all of my content available to pick from at a whim. I need a 64gb or 128gb card most likely.
I do think Sony misses a trick by selling the cards the way they do. For me they should of sold 16 32 and 64gb psvs and maybe have an extra storage card option to with cards the same size. Sony really do need to stop trying to make as much money as they can on there own memory cards as it is hurting them in the long run and putting the cost of there devices up.
IMHO, the memory cost and capacity are where Sony REALLY boned it with the Vita so far.
I can afford the upfront cost of the device (and it'll drop eventually for folks still put off by it). But the memory thing is flat out BRUTAL in terms of both how much it costs and how limited it is for the serious collector types (guilty as charged! LOL!).
I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything else about this device. I'm happy with the hardware, software, and the future releaes look awesome but please, Sony, address the memory situation ASAP!
How come they don't allow you? Why not? It's a great company, caring about customers, taking away stuff with fw upgrades. And now it's time to take away used games. Lol
You're a sad troll,it was obvious from your first reply that you're just taking cheap shots,if you don't like it,nobody is smacking you on the hand to get it ! :)
I do think the SD card is pricey & a price cut on them is always welcomed but I afforded to buy 2 of them and a 3rd one in mind just in case, get a job and buy the stuff you want ! that's how the world spins.
There is just so many things that are socially and economically backward with that said statement that it is outstanding. Can't tell if serious or satire...
How so ? care to elaborate instead of insulting me over the internet ?
I said that the SD cards ARE pricey, but if people still want it that bad then they need to pump more time into getting a job,get money & then buy what they "want so badly" ! what's wrong with that statement son ?
Example: People were buying the PS3 at that 600 dollars price tag, they got the money, they bought it while other customers were whining and pissed,is it wrong of them to spend THEIR hard owned cash to buy something THEY want !?
@T3mp1x Sorry for not being too technical here,I'll just call it the PSVita memory cards instead, well that's you're opinion on what spins this world and I have mine,to each his own ? :)

Gotta save up for that 32GB card XD wish they would compress even more.. get the file size down to at least 50MB, if they can.
We all may have to keep a separate 8 or 16gb memory card just for this game.
Ideally, it'd be $50 for 32 GB, $75 or so for 64 GB (oh yeah, please announce a 64 GB memory card Sony!)

Food for thought.
