EA: Medal Of Honor’s Not Dead, Just Sleeping

RPS - EA’s officially dishonorably discharged the Medal of Honor franchise. That’s unfortunate for a number of reasons, but mainly because it made John sad. As he put it, “It needs new direction, not shelving until the next inevitable reboot in five years time, once Battlefield has run entirely aground.” So, now it’s time for another episode of Good News, Bad News, Picture of an Ostrich. First, the good: Medal of Honor’s definitely not dead. (EA, Medal of Honor, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Basically EA says we have one good developer and it can't be split into two games at the moment. Also with Respawn, and others its likely we won't see Medal of Honor come back until 2015 at the earliest.

I think they should go back to WW2 next gen and effectively remake Allied Assault or Frontlines with excellent visuals, bucket loads of soldiers on screen, ear splitting audio and frightening (in a good way) AI, and a 12 hour campaign full of action, tension and variety.

I'd just love to see storming the beach head Normandy all over again but ramped up x20. Explosions throwing sand into the air and making your ears ring as bullets from the clifftop bunkers zip past your ears, and hundreds of your fellow soldiers are rushing for cover.

I never thought i'd miss WW2 games but i'm sick of all the modern warfare games.

Normandy wasn't the only battle of WW2...I feel studios need to tackle the many other locations and battles fought instead of just using Normandy over and over...

I know beach assaults have been done alot, as has Normandy, but I think you could do a lot more with it these days than what we've seen previously.

12 hour campaign, now thats dreaming for an FPS these days. It'll probably have D-Day be the only good level, regenerating health, and 4 hours of gameplay in SP. Then have 5 DLC packs for 50 dollars.

Yes sleeping ..... Dirt nap.

I wouldn't bring it back unless they had some idea to give the franchise it's own identity. They need to stop trying to be a Call of Duty clone.

Bury this game in the Nevada desert...bring back Battlefield - Bad Company....expand on that Vietnam DLC and make a kick ass SP/MP game...Bad Company 3!!!

Can't believe EA gave MOH priority in the first place...terrible decision!

I agree the Vietnam dlc was amazing! They could redo maps of modern combat on PS2/Xbox like dammage ,backstab, deadly pass and bridge to far

I am going to put myself out there and say that I actually really enjoyed Warfighter.

The multiplayer was actually pretty damn fun. I think that if more people gave the game a chance, they would find the game a lot more fun than they were expecting.

Certainly want to see them continue the series. What form it will reappear in though? That remains to be seen.

Totally agree with ya buddy , I picked it up a couple of weeks ago and have been online since. The amount of bad publicity this game has received is a reel shame and quite harsh, there's still plenty of people playing online which if i'm honest kinda shocked me but at the same time made it better.
