Aliens: Colonial Marines looks like Aliens, and sounds like Aliens, but unfortunately it just doesn’t feel like Aliens.

Lol, I laughed. But I cried inside. I really question whether this game was a labour of love as the developers seemed to appear so passionate about the franchise. I guess passion doesn't always equate to quality. Here's hoping for the future of the franchise.
You are correct. It's not a labor of love, its a cash grab just like DNF was. I am losing respect for Gearbox.
Why, Because IGN gave it a low score, Maybe it's a damm good game.
Well, ojectively that would seem difficult to prove considering the fact that the vast majority of reviews have given this game low scores across the board. However, someone might enjoy the game contrary to the sentiments of the masses. I remember playing Shadowrun on the 360 and thought it was amazing. Unfortunately, the reviewers thought otherwise. But from what I have seen, in my opinion the game looks mediocre and doesn't do justice to the Aliens franchise. But, again, I haven't played it and I doubt I will.
I'm so annoyed, what a poor use of a licence, I love the Alien movies Aliens (2) is in my top 5 favourite movies, If it was up to me I would have made the game into a 3rd person survival horror similar to the original Dead Space only that ammo is scarce and you would have relied more on stealth, I also would have thrown in Metroid style exploration into the mix. eh one can dream tho
Dang..it flopped hard.
Worst pre-order ever. Play it and trade it straight away.
And next up Gears of War Judgment lol! The last i heard they are giving old games that you should already have away for free if you pre order the game. Good luck LOL!
Glad it's not stuck on my Steam list. if you want a proper fun Co-op game that is well deserving of it's score try Killing Floor 72/100 metacritic. Also Left 4 Dead 2.. Well Colonial marines failed and i have been waiting years for it.. next up, Doom 4!.. hope ID make it work, then it's back to Quake 1 style in Quake 5.
What a letdown. Shame.
It should be so easy to make a great Aliens game. Just copy AVP1. Job done.
Straight to the bargain bin.
Reviews dont sway my purchase... Look man I need know one thing where they are!!!
As I've said in a few review articles, its a shame to say, but I called it: (27 Days Ago) "When the game was initially announced back in 2008, I was undeniably hyped, it was originally a highly tactical, squad-based FPS (Think Rainbow Six in Space with Alien's Horror Atmosphere), you issued commands to your 3 AI Companions, requesting them the weld doors shut, guard doorways, vents, floor panels etc, also, there was a great co-operative gameplay mechanic where if playing campaign with a friend you each command one of the two remaining AI companions, giving the second player equal experience to the host. However, due to Gearbox's shifting focus towards the recently acquired Duke Nukem franchise and then with development of the much requested Borderlands sequel, this game became forgotten about, and, it would seem unfortunately, in order to release it prior to the next generations arrival, it's been stripped down to a bland, generic shooter." So much wasted potential...
Unreal engine is the problem to me,the characters looks like they are made of clay worst engine eva!
I am sure I am blinded by my fondness for the movie Aliens. I am going to ignore the bad reviews and play it myself. I might have to force myself to enjoy it but I am sure going to try.
That was going to be my strategy with this game. I was gonna get up and go buy the game this morning, until I read the various reasons people gave to justify low scores. When you read about so many specific problems, it's hard to justify a full price purchase. Looks like the price will be dropping soon on this game so I'll wait and maybe play it later.
i knew this was gonna suck, there just wasn't enough gameplay shown before the game was released, don't know how anyone could pre-order this game comfortably when their just wasn't enough reason to justify its purchase.
