From what I've seen and played, it doesn't seem to be as big of a difference between it and 3 as 3 was from 2 and 2 was from 1. I'm worried that it doesn't bring enough new content to the table. Then again, CoD sells every year.
"From what I've seen and played, it doesn't seem to be as big of a difference between it and 3 as 3 was from 2 and 2 was from 1"...
What? No... Just no.
The changes in the game are as follows:
No DBNO No more stopping power Overrun (first competitive class based mode) complete re-balance of all starting weapons Re-balance of power weapons new loadout system New controls
Those are the biggest changes in MP and thats not even getting into detail about how much effort they're putting into Sp.
An important thing to note is that many of the changes are not sitting well with the community. Some are plain silly to complain about but at the same time its commendable to EPIC that they would risk changing the game up when they could easily have just stayed in their comfort zone.
Yeah, I have the same feeling. I also wonder who the people are who will pre-order Judgement, and don't already own Gears 2 or 3. I mean if you're willing to pre-order a Gears game, you've probably already played the series. I'm sure there are exceptions, but they are exactly that... exceptions.
Damn next thing you know they'll be giving you a free Xbox 360 with your pre-order. They are trying hard to get the sales up for this game, pre-orders are like 1 million behind Gears 3.
The little game in my avatar is a brand new IP and is already ahead of Gears Judgement pre orders, a game that has had 3 games in the series thus far. Not to mention Gears of War games are more front loaded and it's barely managing to pass 100k pre orders. Gears has 92k pre orders whereas Last of Us has 135k. Nice try troll.
As one of my friends said to me, "Buy Gears of War Judgement, get the whole series for free". LOL
He is actualy right about the pre-orders status for this game. But the fact is that Microsoft is not making any kind of publicity force like they did with the other Gears games. My bet is that something is very wrong between M$ and Epic but we are yet to know the true facts ,and this game been produced by people can fly is on its own in terms of support not to mention that the franchise itself is oversaturated with so many sequel and now a prequel in my view. They need to take a break on the Gears franchise, just like ND did with Uncharted.I would welcome a sequel to Bulletstorm over another Gears ANY DAY!
Once again, this sony fanboy is in a Gears of War thread throwing his baby talk. Why do you come to every Gears of War article? Your insecurity level that bad? Life is that bad for you? You already bored of playing Sony All Stars? Let me guess...you didn't buy it, huh? Yeah just like the rest of you who didn't buy the game.
Why do I have to go to ever Gears article? LOL are you insane? I could care less about this game and I don't even have the time to follow it. Microsoft has left this game to die and you're just mad. No point in even replying to you since you have one bubble, who is the troll now?
I'm getting it, I want to play through the story. Gears is going to be Gears, the same as Mario, God of War blah blah. I'm driven by the story and fans of the series should be too. I don't care if its game of the year or pre orders surpass a certain number. It's pretty childish to tell you the truth, I haven't preordered it because I know there are going to be enough copies to go around and won't be sold out plus I have gears 1 2 and 3 Now if you gave me a semi automatic Chain Gun I can show my nose neighbors with that preorder, I'm game. Plus, The game has it's core fan base it has reached it's tipping point, so it's going to get it's sales.
The campaign will be a blast, looks more like Gears 1 and RAAM's Shadow. Plus Overrun will be pretty awesome from what I have seen. The problem with this game is there has been no marketing, so it won't sell as well as previous Gears. I'm sure pre-orders will pick up, but it seems pretty bad right now.
Can't wait for the inevitable 'anonymous developer' behind Gears Judgment to tell everyone what had been going on at EPIC and MS. Maybe MS wanted to help fund UE4, for the price of royalties etc. And they said no, so MS said bye bye advertising. Dunno, just imagining something, as something seems strange.
I swear every time I come into a Gears of War Judgement article there is always someone that brings up the "bu bu but the pre-orders are so low". Since when are pre-orders indicative of how much the final game will sell? And what are the sources for this? VGChartz? It's like these past few months VGChartz has all of the sudden become legit and credible.
I already pre-ordered this with the MS store, they offered a $20 credit with a pre-order. I already have Gears 1, 2 and 3 and I have the Collectors Edition of the 1 and 3. Good idea for those new to the series though.
What of the rumor that all copies of Judgment have a download code for the first Gears game? Which would make the most sense because Judgment is the prequel to Gears 1.
Not a rumor. Epic came out to say that first run copies of Judgment will include a download code for GoW 1 since more than half the players who played GoW 3 never played the original.
So in theory if you pre-order with Walmart you'll get Judgement, Gears 1 and Gears 2 if you choose? That is 3 Gears games for the price of 1, which is pretty amazing.
I remain hopeful.

This game looks to be one of the best for replay-ability this year too: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

i think i will pass on gears3 or borrow it down the line.

MS will wait 3 weeks before the game ships to market this. Bet it does 1.5 million within a week

I can't find the post about it on Epic right now, but here's JoyStiq's article. http://www.joystiq.com/2013...
