PlayStation Plus Update: Closure Joins the Instant Game Collection

PS US Blog - Welcome to this week’s PlayStation Plus update, where we highlight the latest free games, discounts, and features that PS Plus members can expect in the coming week. Many have already jumped online to play Guardians of Middle Earth, which arrived free for PS Plus members last week, and this week we’re bringing you one of the bright indie stars in gaming with Closure; a PSN-exclusive that turned heads when it debuted last year. Read on and also check out some of the great discounts on amazing titles like Critter Crunch. (Closure, PS3)

Sweet, Critter Crunch is cheaper......it's almost like they don't want people to sign up for PS Plus.

A half decent update would be great. The type of updates they have been releasing lately are not worth $50 a year.

Yeah but the total selection of games available now is worth it.

If you haven't played them all.

Assuming you also own a Vita.

I'm an actual gamer, not a fake one like ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I have played and enjoyed many games from the instant game collection, and just purchased a Vita so i can play the Vita games as well.

I dont care what type of game it is, getting a random game added to the collection consistently throughout the year is well worth the 50$.

Anyone who says otherwise is just a hater, and it's obvious. There's just no denying that PS+ hit the nail on the head with what gamers want. GAMERS. Not you complaining hating poser gamers that cry about everything and dont enjoy games.

I wish I was an "actual gamer"

Maybe if I appreciate PS Plus more and stop squabbling about value for my money I can achieve what you clearly already have.

.....one day.

I had ps plus since it came out. We always used to get par quality games in America (with a few exceptions). But when I see what Europe is getting, and for the same fee that I paid here in America, then i'm sorry, but Critter Crunch and Rochard and other trash games are no longer acceptable. If u prefer Critter Crunch (or Closure) over Sleeping Dogs, then you sir are NOT a true gamer.

@Donnieboi

You know Critter Crunch was one of the first free games for the PS+ service? It was and I still have Critter Crunch! It's a fun game, and I wouldn't have ever played that fun and cute game if it wasn't for PS+. So don't judge a game before you try it! :)

What the heck?

North America gets Closure, a short, 2d game while Europe got Sleeping Dogs last week. Last week, people on n4g said we were ungrateful for not appreciating yhe lame game we got last week. They said we should wait for this week. Now we get another lame update.

I wouldn't be complaining if Europe wasnt getting vastly better stuff. We pay the same price for ps plus in American dollars, so why is Sony using PUR American dollars to secure great games for Europe, while shoveling crap games on Americans? How else can they explain the vast difference on quality?

What excuse is there for the difference on quality?

Careful, rants like this mean you're not an "actual gamer". You're not allowed to question any PS Plus updates whatsoever, just take it and smile.

...Downloading "Critter Crunch"....Smiling :)...

It was the opposite last year. We had several superior updates to the EU region.

2 weeks is not long enough to honestly expect an "excuse" from Sony about perceived difference in quality between two different regions.

I'm guessing it has to do with licencing and negotiations instead of them looking at a big drop down menu of games and thinking, nah we'll skip giving them a AAA title this week and go with ::scrolls way down:: ... Closure!

They can't just offer any game they want whenever they want.

Merril... you're friggin hilarious!

Morgan replied to someone who roughly said the same thing.

"We’ve definitely got our eye on providing PS3 Full Games for Plus members. Stay tuned to these updates, but it’s definitely on the agenda. Thanks!"

So the full game for the month hasn't arrived yet for America.

EU get all their PS3 games at once, America has them spread out over the month.

I think the updates are fine. I do not have many of the games recently added to the instant game collection. Darksiders and Quantum Conundrum are both new to me.

It's as if the non-games are meaningless to you. Auto-updates, daily trophy syncs, auto d/l some demos, and large capacity cloud storage for saves all have value for different people.

Then again if you've already bought every game released in the instant collection for the past few months, do you REALLY care that much about $4 a month? Seems like you're spending a lot more than that on games.
Donnieboi  +   517d ago
No your missing the point. Your saying I should be greatful for cloud saving and extras like that. BUT Europe still has those features TOO, AND yet they ALSO get great, relatively newly released games like Sleeping Dogs (its relatively new at least).

So what's your point if it's only $4 a month? EU pays the same amount as me, but I get crap. I want what EU has. I bet EU wouldnt wanna give up the games they get to get the crap we have. Because if so, I bet EU gamers would cry foul. I just dont see why Sony can afford to give away $60 games to EU almost each month (plus more throughout that month), but Americans get crappy $15 no-name rejects. Even if they cant give America the Sleeping Dogs game due to liscencing issues, why not just give us a game of equivalent value (monetarily) as Sleeping Dog? So your "appreciative" stance is weak and void of any logic.

If anything, Sony is likely using AMERICAN ps+ fees to fund the high quality giveaways that Europe is enjoying. While they shovel the crap on us and we swallow it in the name of appreciation.

EU = Pays same as America, yet gets the Cream of the Crop that PSN has to offer.

America pays it's dues, and we get the Cream of the CRAP.

What a bunch of suckers.

Your "appreciative" logic fails. Fact.

The total games that are out now are prime titles, fully worth the subscription, the rest is extra.
arbitor365  +   517d ago

kingPoS  +   517d ago
