Bodachi's view of separation of the PSN in the different regions.
I'm not sure it's a matter of just merging departments together. It's more likely that the different laws in countries make it difficult to get the 'all clear' to lauch products/services. So Sony has opted to bring things out when and where they can rather than hold off on various government approval.
What irks me most about the apparent divide in PSN regions is the release dates and the feeling that maybe a different region is getting more exciting things. Than I remember that the grass is always greener on the other side and I forget about it.
But MS don't have the same trouble? As a UK living PS3 owner I don't alway moan. I do however find it ironic that we still haven't had Counter Striker.
Yet when we get a better Plus deal the US are all up in arms.
What some people seem to forget it SCEE and SCEA are two different companies under the umbrella of the Sony name. SCEE looks after 26 different stores while SCEA has only 4. It is going to take longer for SCEE to do everything with each country has its own bureaucracy to deal with. Certain countries are far stricter on media like Germany and it can take longer to get done. Merging them will make no difference, it will only cause the game to be delayed everywhere than just in Europe.
Well I know SCEE deals with more countries but I was more referring to the fact that games are released in the same region on other platforms while are delayed for the European PSN.
I hope they let us use credit card in all store regions, like what Nintendo does.
If that's situation, then why not just find out the proper addresses and make a EU, JP or US account. You can top off with with psn cards from online venders.
I much prefer having everything in one account. Then have games tied to other accounts.
