10 Games That Made Absolutely No Sense

As video games mature as a medium, they become better and better at telling coherent stories. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t seen some truly bizarre and nonsensical creations emerge from the industry. Here are ten games that really don’t make any sense at all.

Note: Just because a game doesn’t have a coherent plot doesn’t mean that it’s a terrible game. In fact, we absolutely adore a good portion of the games on this list. But that doesn’t make them any less bizarre. (Casual games)

Mass Effect 3 made sense in terms of everything that happened, it's just that there were a lot of things that weren't shown to provide context to your previous actions to make them all seem somewhat meaningful, or at least more meaningful than what we got.

Also, I love David Cage, but I'd have to add Heavy Rain to the list. Plot holes were so enormous, there was no explanation to how those Origami figures were showing up right next to Ethan Mars after he "blacked out". I mean, what a crock.

It makes more sense than most, unless you discount the use of coming up with your own explanations. That said, the fact that the ending actually completely requires the individual playing to come up with elaborate theories in order to make most of the parts make sense is absolute crap.

I believe that some like to play with the ideas, and be force fed them. I like a story that makes me think and wonder.
To each their own I suppose.

The problem was more how poorly written and presented the ending was; and no foreshadowing short of it being a cycle of events. We shouldn't have had to come up with elaborate theories and stories to make sense of the Catalyst, Crucible, or the ending themselves.

The best stories and best endings are such where you don't need to make up an elaborate story, because that is when it puts all the work on the player. I personally am fine with having to come up with elaborate theories, but my (and many others, I'm sure) didn't like the lack of foreshadowing, planning, or overall presentation of it.

Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy, the game David Cage did before Heavy Rain.

It starts off as an occult X-Files style mystery thriller. By the end of it, you've become a zombie jedi fighting the internet.

The killer wonders who the killer is. This was one of the worst plot devices i've ever come across. It's is not some great throwoff, it is a hugely cheap trick to surprise you. Well...good game though

I'm not sure how Metal gear solid 2 makes this list, yes it's a bit confusing at first "Fission mailed" anyone! (scares me to this day), but you should easily understand it, atleast with a second play through.
