"The game is a 3rd-person MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online Game) that is playable across all platforms (PC, XBOX, and PS3) and is the only game this generation to allow cross-play across all the three platforms." - JTM Games
Has there ever been a successful MMO that did any kind of platform cross play?
Final Fantasy XI is considered the first "cross-platform MMORPG ever created."
EVE Online and Dust 514.
Is it me or does every developer in the Defiance World and Weapons trailer look like a different race from the Elder Scroll games? The game looks incredible. True cross-play so 360 players can get to play with PS3 users?
Yer thats what i want to know if it is true cross play because i highly doubt microsoft would allow cross play with ps3 users how would cross game chat work then?
How would cross game chat work then? Simple: No cross game voice chat for PS3 users. I don't get what you're confused about.
What I was asking Statix is if a ps3 user and a 360 user were playing together and talking together would on the 360 side people from other games be able to join the chat like normal or would it lock the chat room because there was a ps3 player in there. I dont understand how my question could confuse you we all no the ps3 dosent have cross game chat. But it doesnt matter anyway the article is wrong the game doesnt support cross game play between ps3 and 360 users.
There is no cross platform play.
Its simple how it works. Both game sides log you into Trion Worlds account service. You log in to it and then you are both inside the same server/world. PS3 is logged into PS3 servers and X360 is logged into X360 servers However if Defiance logs you into Trion worlds account on PS3 and on X360 it logs you into Trions worlds account then you are in the same server after that. So how is that complicated? The game itself would have to have its own communication service for you to chat. Instead of standard way it would use a different method. As far as the final game goes Microsoft won't be allowing X360 to have this feature if it comes. Although would that prevent PS3/PC players from playing together? Right now they have it working with X360, PS3, and PC players, but Microsoft is so scared of it that they won't let it happen again. Just like with other MMOs that wanted to do the same thing, but canned the X360 version because Microsoft said no to supporting it. http://www.dealspwn.com/mic...
Deadlyfire that's because of security risks that MS, I'm sure, doesn't want to put itself through, lol. There has been a lot of egg in companies faces concerning such a thing ; )
I was pretty sure that they canned the cross-platform play (pc vs xbox vs ps3 players). Either way, this game has had like no advertising. Most people I know have not heard of it. Also, is the show only in the U.S? I live in Australia, and plan on watching it online if I have to. The game looks pretty sweet. https://docs.google.com/spr... That is all the Ark Hunter codes discovered so far. Enter them into your account to unlock extras when tne game comes out :)
