Giving Platinum Games A Break – Reader’s Feature

GameCentral Reader: ''Platinum Games are highly regarded by most of the readers on these pages as one of our favourite game developers working today. GC themselves have often stated they are huge fans. Many of their key talented devs came from ex-game developer Clover Studios, developers of cult hits Okami and God Hand amongst others.

So why does a development studio with such a rich history behind it continue to fail in the sales department? After all, both Clover and Platinum have created some of the best and most unique games from this and last generation.'' (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, PlatinumGames, PS3, Xbox 360)

Good article and I agree with what was written, it would be so sad to ever see a company this great go out of buisness due to the lack of marketing and exposure, they are one of the few creative and innovative developers, as well as one of the few japanese developers who still do japanese style games that are amazing. I loved all their games this generation and most of their games as Clover Studios, they really do deserve more attention in the gaming industry and I'm glad they most likely will be with Metal Gear Rising which is one of the games I'm anticipating most this year.

Platinum Games/Clover have consistently made brilliant games for about 12 years now. Metal Gear Rising seems like a new high, going off the demo.

I think the fact that God Hand was graphically flawed (the environments anyway) and maybe felt a little rushed, yet was one of my favourite PS2 games and had one of the most interesting and fun combat systems for a long time is testament to their awesomeness.
Why O Why couldn't they have made the new DMC game? I'd have bought it twice just to bump sales up a little.
