Santa Monica Studio is not just God of War, in developing a new IP for the upcoming Playstation?

4News.it written:

An action title focused on fighting ... FPS?

Less than two weeks after the Playstation Meeting, the event organized by Sony Computer Entertainment in the New York City to unveil the "future" of PLAYSTATION, get new confirmation about Santa Monica Studio, SCEA's first-party team known for giving life to the God of War franchise and now focused on a new intellectual property.

After opening the opportunity to join the team for a Senior Combat Designer , today you will discover new applications including two Senior Staff Programmer, capable of achieving work tools useful to the team, support the team, push the development of high levels of performance , not to mention that the development will focus on the God of War franchise.

With PlayStation in the pipeline, remains to be seen if the team wants to achieve something for the current PlayStation Vita or play the cards for the next PlayStation. (Next-Gen, PS Vita, PS3, Santa Monica Studios)

SSM has a slew of IPs and I am always excited to see what they're developing

Translate Google strikes again.

Would love to see a new IP from Santa Monica, hopefully a big scale third person RPG. Don't want to see that great talent waste their time on another FPS. Sony has Killzone, that's enough. Now Sony needs a Mass Effect type of exclusive game.

more than Mass effect i would welcome some sort of survival horror

Agree with Nawert@

Sony already has Last of Us. What they need is a true RPG on the same scale as Mass Effect franchise, but from the talented Santa Monica Studios devs. That would be it, then Sony has everything in their arsenal.

I wish/ hope Sony would incorporate more RPG's into the PS4, The PS1/PS2 were the RPG capital of gaming, how anyone can be a fan of RPGS and not own either of those consoles is beyond me.

I would love to see a dungeon based JRPG exclusive on the PS4 not like Demon's Souls but more like Vagrant Story (favourite game)

I would also like to see more fighting games, a realistic one like Bushido Blade would be incredible.

Basically more of everything except fps

These guys know how to make great games. I've never played a game from them that wasn't extremely polished and entertaining. Stoked to see what they're cooking up for PS4!

im sure they can make something spectacular thats not GOW just like naughty dog when they shocked the gaming world with uncharted..

Looks like you HAVE to a PlayStation if you want new IPs. Sony is the only one that pushes new IPs.

Good. We don't need another GoW title for awhile. Let's move on to something NEW.

Agreed, but after a few years from launch. I wouldn't mind a return for God Of War IV on PS4. I wanna see Kratos take on the Primordials. Also wanna see what happened to his family's souls.

BUT, I would rather see Sony Santa Monica's new IP first though. One of my favorite studios next to Naughty Dog. We need a studio from Sony that can make some awesome RPG's, and SSM are definitely the ones I'm looking too.

Let Ready at Dawn bring God of War to the vita and Santa Monica can bring their New IP to the vita as well or create an exclusive psvita game.

So Sony Santa Monica are currently creating the upcoming masterpiece God of War: Ascension, they're assisting with the development of The Last Guardian and they're creating a new IP for the PS4?

They have got to be the hardest working developers ever, the amount of games they collaborate on in addition to releasing 2 of the most acclaimed games ever with GoW 2 (released during this generation) & GoW3 is just amazing!

They are easily my favourite developers, I can't wait to see the new IP! I bet Sony will tease it on the 20th Feb when they announce the PS4!

They are one of sony's biggest studios, they help other studios with their games, they have helped Warhawk, Fat Princess, Journey, Starhawk, Twisted Metal and other developers.

The God of War series on PS3 demonstrates exactly how incredibly powerful the PS3 still is.

I prefer to think not that the PS3 is 7 year old ageing hardware, but instead how 7 year old hardware is still perfectly capable of wowing me.

If it were not for PC's, nobody would believe PS3/360 were (currently) under powered...but then again, if it were not for PC's, these machines would probably not exist.

Swings & Roundabouts.

I know that it wasn't SMS But LS that was developing it.
but, I would love if they brought "8 days" back from the dead for the next gen. All the leaked footage made it look like something really special.

good for you, just believe.
I really want Eight Days and The Getaway to be next gen.
CalvinKlein  +   599d ago
I hope they make a vita game. For vita they should make a multiplayer rpg game with GOW combat.
