For some reason, I continue to have high hopes for the interactive fiction genre, but I’m always disappointed. I always find it to be an outdated genre with bland prose, unfair deaths, and crappy storytelling. Contrastingly, House of Hell is a work of interactive fiction with bland prose, unfair deaths, and mediocre storytelling.
Did you ever own one or multiple of the books in the Fighting Fantasy series? This awesome gamebook series offered more interactivity than a standard “choose your own adventure” novel with RPG elements such as stat-tracking and battles.
148apps: The iOS version of the well known Fighting Fantasy title, House of Hell isn't quite as exceptional as Blood of the Zombies but it's still worth a look.
