Fire Emblem: Awakening Review | Trendy Gamers

Having just re-re-re-played Advance Wars: Dual Strike for about 30 hours last month, I wasn’t sure I was ready for another portable strategy RPG. Shortly after starting up Fire Emblem: Awakening though, those doubts were quickly erased. I have a feeling that this game is destined to be the best strategy RPG on the 3DS (at least until we see the next Advance Wars (hopefully)).

I am SO loving this game right now... On Chapter 9 and am enjoying everything about it. My only single complaint is the lack of voice acting. There's not a whole lot of it, however it's nothing to deter from such an amazing experience.

Which difficulty are you playing on? Classic or Casual?

Snookies124088d ago

Classic for sure. It's infuriating at times, but having that pressure there to not lose any member in battle is awesome at the same time. It really makes battles feel that much more important.

Same here. Already one of my favorite games ever. By far my favorite FE game, and there is nothing I could say bad about it so far.

* Good Art Style

* Great Music

* good and varied animations

* One of the best cast of characters ever in a game both personality and looks wise.

* Quality is smeared over everything

* Tons of content...ec: Free Spotpass characters + DLC characters & Maps.

* Main Story + Prologue ( side missions ) + Risen random battles = tons of game to play

There is just so much good going for this game.

Other dev's need to take notice.

This is how you make a game.

This game looks awesome, definitely wanna try it

I would definitely do so. I did and since I couldn't find it in stores I just purchased it off the eStore. Knowing that I wouldn't delete it for quite some time.

Where can I buy a physical copy of this game at regular price? It seems like everywhere is sold out. Why is the stock so low for this game? I really don't want to buy it off the eshop.

Myst4088d ago

I just kept checking all the Bestbuys', Gamestops and even <Cringes> Walmarts'....

Snookies124088d ago (Edited 4088d ago )

I was lucky to get a copy on the 5th at Gamestop. I'd even pre-ordered it a while before it came out and they only got a few copies in. It was basically a "first come, first served" basis.

Not sure why the stock was so low either... Unless it just sold way more than expected and they ran out of them. (Which I'm hoping, because this game SERIOUSLY deserves all the sales it can get.)

I have heard nothing but good things about FE. It sounds like a must have title for the 3DS!

10 Video Game Sequels That Saved Their Franchise

Video game sequels like Assassin's Creed Origins, Doom (2016), and Fire Emblem Awakening were just what these franchises needed to be revitalized.

Immagaiden350d ago

Lmao what’s Halo Infinite doing on this list?

Who would ever say Halo Infinite saved the Halo franchise

SullysCigar349d ago

Thought the same - very bizarre!

RE7 though... my God, what a shift over RE6! That franchise was definitely going in the wrong direction, so RE7 was a welcome return to form.

ModsDoBetter349d ago

Resi 6 was and still is the worst entry in the series.
7 was a great turnaround, despite people’s concerned about the switch to FP perspective.

DMC5 definitely helped the franchise after the whole DmC debacle. Whilst it was a decent action game, it was a far cry from the series and the characters we knew.

AC Origins is my favourite in the entire AC series. Despite the switch to a more RPG style of gameplay - the setting, soundtrack, length, etc were all amazing. sadly followed up by the ridiculously long and “more of the same” Odsyssey.

I don’t feel it’s fair to say the franchise slipped with Doom 3, Doom 3 was incredibly atmospheric and took the game in a different direction but there’s no denying Doom (2016) was sensational.

Halo 4 & 5 were disappointing but Halo Infinite definitely didn’t save the franchise? What?

I'm going to have to go with SMB 3. I was around when SMB 2 first came out and people hated it. 3 is still arguably the best mario game created.

"Halo Infinite"? Worse Halo ever. Whoever made this list just lost all credibility.

In future lists of a similar nature I have a suspicion Final Fantasy XVI will feature.
