As you probably noticed in the Killzone: Mercenary gameplay video that debuted recently, the upcoming FPS looks amazing on the PlayStation Vita and manages to stand pretty close to both Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 in the graphics department.
Seeing as the Vita has the best graphics of any handheld ever and this will only be the 3rd FPS on the system, this should be pretty easy.
Who knows. Maybe they'll still screw it up. On the Vita, any disappointment is possible. And I'm an owner. I love the system, I just wish it had more support.
You want more support but you have that kind of attitude towards new games? You can have that attitude and want more support. You should be think positive instead of 'Oh, it probably might still fail' @ LastXeno. They premiered the trailer and showed all the weapons you were going to use in the game all with gameplay included.
this game rivals a lot of console games now. from what ive seen of this game and knowing who the developers are im quite sure that this game will be amazing. all killzone games have been amazing because the devs are experienced and with every iteration they improve a lot. im even confident that this game can be as good as killzone 3 or better and im hoping for an amazing online portion. i cant wait to see more of the multi[player side next week and i cant wait for ps4 and killzone 4.
just from the looks of the graphics, it looks much better then Battlefield 3 on consoles! I'm making that statement on just looks, not the size of the maps or the lack of vehicles in it.
This is who you are. http://i.qkme.me/5s7n.jpg
lol Debbie Downer! LMFAO
Just do not focus so much on the eye candy and forget about game play.
Its the art director, his job is eye candy.
Metacritic: Killzone - 70% Killzone 2 - 91% Killzone 3 - 84% Killzone Liberation - 77% Killzone HD - 59% Maybe this one will be the another decent killzone game
well, those amateurs from Crytek should learn many things from Killzone developers
what i never understood is how the HD versions of games and get a lower score than their original versions. if its got HD and trophy support, it can only be better right? nope, lets go ahead and make a review that makes absolutely no sense. are the reviewers forgetting that the HD games are X number of years old? some things in life dont make any sense. this being one of them
@SonyStyled When they do that it's usually because of something about the collection itself. I've seen complaints because you have to install Killzone 1, and that all the games aren't on separate discs with their original cases like the Resistance collection. It's more about the bundle than the actual games.
'Project Shield' by Nvidia with it's custom 72-core GeForce GPU & Quad-core A15 CPU says Hello.
he isn´t talking about angry birds
@piroh Daammnnn. Lol
"'Project Shield' by Nvidia with it's custom 72-core GeForce GPU & Quad-core A15 CPU says Hello." yeah and all it does is stream a pc game... lame
While Project Shield might not exactly have developer support just yet.. it's still far more powerful than the PS Vita in terms of it's specs. For the record, I own an PS Vita & I can't wait for Killzone: Mercenary.. but you can't deny the truth that the tech in the Vita is already outdated. I can pull up specs if you want.. but they can easily be found via Google.
The amount of cores means absolutely nothing. And a big thing that will hold the Shield back is the fact that it uses Android. The Vita is its own platform, which allows for optimization and direct hardware coding that just isn't possible on Android. On top of that, most Android games fall into 1 of 2 categories: 1) Great experience, but shallow content. 2) Shallow experience, but loads of content. With mobile development you just don't have the time, resources, or the budget to have both. It just isn't feasible. With a set platform, like the Vita, you CAN have both. That's due to not only the optimization that a set platform allows, but also the increased price of games. You can't sell a $40 game on Android because no one will buy it. Most mobile gamers will only purchase games between $0.99 to $4.99. That's one of the things that will always set dedicated handheld consoles apart from mobile platforms. Also, considering the hardware, and the fact that Nvidia will have to make a profit on each unit, the Shield is going to be very, very expensive. Much more so than the Vita.
Unfortunately it's not going sell well at all either way due to the Vitas poor sales.
I hope they can pull it off. More importantly, I hope they make one that PLAYS as well as it looks. ...And in the wake of the suck pile that was Black Ops Declassified, I should say that I hope this game has some content to it, as well.
Sorry, I forgot how little content that game has. I suppose it was more of a suck pocket or small envelope of suck rather than a whole pile.
Haha thanks for clarifying.
Ha Ha suck pocket... It's supposed to have a pretty lengthy campaign and it looks like there will be reasons to keep playing so you can get more cash. Can't be less content than declassified, game had a campaign that was like less than 2 hours. I'm pretty hopeful on this one, remember that declassified had only 5 months of development, and was made by Nihilistic. We saw the first screens of this game back when the Vita was still the NGP, so it's been getting worked on for quite a while.
I think a "bundle of suck" would fit quite lovely with your statement referring to the "all boring" call of duty declassified, good sir. http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photo...
What about gameplay?
Judging from the demos so far, the gameplay will be good. It looks like the campaign will actually have more variety than the console campaigns, and some of the sci fi gadgets look pretty cool. Every preview of the game thus far has been positive, on both multiplayer and single player.
Thats the great thing about Guerrilla, they not only excel in graphics but also gameplay. Loved the brutal melee and jet pack gameplay in KZ3 :D
They're doing a good job on it, the game is going to blow most other Vita games out of the water. It isn't even that close to release and it looks incredible.
Looking good so far. Keep it up.
Looks amazing. Can't wait to see more.
Good luck with that. I think you'll need it. Heheheh.
What game is that? It looks awesome
Gun Commando, released last week on Playstation Mobile - it's fun and very cheap! Actually looks pretty charming on the Vita's screen ;)
Believe it when I see it.
Well congrats. You've already pulled it off.
it already is from what ive seen
