MP1st | Dead Space 3 Co-Op Review

MP1st - "Dead Space 3 Co-Op is a gamers’ game. It’s rare these days to sit down with a buddy and have a fun, high-action, shoot’em up experience. With every developer trying to either wow or impress us, it feels like every game is hitting us over the head with a sack full of set pieces and dramatic cutscenes. Visceral Games has struck a really nice balance with the DS3 Co-Op gameplay of drama, action, horror, and pseudo-RPG." (Dead Space 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 4/5

Might have to give it a try when it gets cheap, my money is going towards other upcoming games atm.

I had to get it 'cus February is so dry of AAA games. So far they have tension and fun factor nailed.
Not sad I bought it.

The demo of this game really put me off. But a friend of mine picked it up. I watched him play about 10 minutes of it, then decided I was an idiot for doubting visceral games. I don't know if they were trying to appeal to shooter fans with the demo. But the full game is original dead space though and though. I'm really glad I picked it up

Half way through and have only gone up against humans once. I now laugh at people who said it's like Gears or whatever. But serious it actually is a Dead Space game alright. 2 is still my favourite, well one of my favourite games this gen.

Well to be fair the reason that people " said it's like Gears..." is because of the demo highlighting that very gameplay aspect that they were afraid of(the 'bro' shooter).

I don't think it is very kind to say " . I now laugh at people who said it's like Gears...". Obviously you are intelligent enough(not being sarcastic) to know that EA was trying to appeal to the demographic with the gameplay footage.

We have all been burned in the past from a franchise that we love. I'm sure that you would agree with *that.

Dead Space 1 will always be my favorite...
The first one will always be my favorite. To begin with, Isaac was just an engineer who knew shit about fighting, happened to be in the wrong place at the worst time. He was the underdog and had this hopelessness about him - something essential to a horror game. Heck, other than screaming, he didn't even talk.

Come all the other dead space sequels, he is more powerful, has more gear, guns etc. I just don't see the horror aspect anymore.

The lesson here is not write off a game based on beta testing or initial video footage.
