Facepalm. No wonder SE keep making dreadful games.

The Last of Us is the only Western game that made it to the top 30 and there is a reason for that. Out of many Western developers, Naughty Dog is the only one that seems to have a style that Japanese gamers are ok with: 1. Characters don't look like they are on steroids. 2. characters look like actual people. 3. better proportion so easy to relate with. There are also other things, but I don't want to get into them. i bet if god of war wasn't that "brutal," then maybe Ascension would've made it to the list.

so reason 1,2 and 3 are the same reason?

also GTA is on the list.

yea, just noticed that. GTAV also looks great in comparison to most western games. 1, 2, and 3 are exceptions because one is anime and the other 2 are highly stylized games. GTA5 just looks like a major improvement from previous games, so I really don't see why Japanese wouldn't be interested this time around. For Rockstar, I think it started off with Red Dead Redemption and not GTA4.
