Crytek: ‘More Power Is Originally At The Core of What We Want’ From PS4 And Xbox 720

"The last one week has been infested with next generation console news. According to reports Sony will be revealing the PlayStation 4 during a special event on February 20th. Third party game developers and investors are also expected to attend this event. Now we can’t say for sure what they will be revealing but all reports point to a massive PS4 reveal." (Cryengine 3, PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Crytek: All they say is nonsense to promote themselves & sell licenses.

Crytek are a good example of a company that has been all talk and no action since 2007.

Funny they cant out do what they created back then.

^Don't know about you, but Crysis 3 Hunter's mode is actually pretty fun. And there aren't any other PC games that actually utilize 8 CPU threads as well as Crysis 3 does. For the first time in a long time, there's a measureable difference between gaming on an i5 vs an i7 with the i7 advantage of course.

So Crytek has been true to their words in terms of the technical front, but they are just missing "something" that doesn't propel their games onto something better. Which I think is storytelling.

Crytek's problems of today, will continue on as the same problems of tomorrow.
They keep asking for more and more power, but consoles don't run or work well with this dichotomy.

Crytek needs to learn how to program and optimize better.
There are developers that do a better job then them, so the problems they describe are their own failures.....basically.

push what? . the amount of detail on the copy and paste environments and character modeLs .? . very unique team here

Highlife  +   538d ago
Agree, Crytek can you add fun to your games. Being pretty just isn't enough.
plaZeHD  +   538d ago
Plus the artistic design in Crysis games is ugly.
AngelicIceDiamond  +   538d ago
I hope next gen games aren't like Cryteks. All look but no muscle!
NotSoSilentBob  +   538d ago
So in other words they want to be able to continue doing crappy coding and be able to just let the hardware make up for their short falls?
chukamachine  +   538d ago
Crytek don't do crappy programming.

Their engine is realtime. Not pre-baked crap. Hence it takes power to run.

Your asking for a power engine to run on old hardware.

The beta runs @ 60fps on my pc.

And I've just been accepted for the beta of warface, d/l now.

of course is the only that Crytek look on any platform, and they Impressed me a couple of time, but they are BY FAR the worst of the market, telling a story or giving life to characters.

CRYTECK = brawn no brain
stuntman_mike  +   538d ago
they say they want powerful consoles but there's tons of powerful pc's out there that are more than capable yet they still aint happy?
solid_warlord  +   538d ago
Crysis is an average game with above average graphics and nothing more, just like Killzone.
GABRIEL1030  +   538d ago
Crytek soliciting graphics power...for what?... The graphics of Crysis 1 are amazing and are much better than Crysis 2 and 3, games developed several years later. Maybe Crysis 4 will look like Mario 64.
Theyellowflash30  +   538d ago
uhhh..... thats why I wont play any games from them. All they do is focus on specs and graphics, meanwhile there game plays like shit (crysis 2) Dude with a gun shooting everything..... but now in a jungle with a Bow!

No thanks, I'll pass.
Npugz7  +   538d ago
They need to make a new and different game! The crysis story sucks it just looks pretty.
Tyre  +   538d ago
He an article on Crytek...and what do we have in the comments? Hate/Trolling/Nerd Rage by the PC Gamers....Pathetic U guys bore me to death. Keep Beating your phantom dead horses. bunch of F losers. U guys just don't get the gameplay of Crysis....The replay value us huge with every Crysis game and tons of fun, it is what u make it urself! Does every developer need to hold ur hand? Crytek is a 100% right and all u guys suck. What is wrong with u people? And What about Hideo Kojima/Fox Engine he also wants more power in the next gen consoles and digs realistic looking graphics in his games...but u guys do not bash him? Double standards losers! Go ahead, go full retard on every article on Crytek.

Crysis 2 sucks, doesn't push the boundaries of gameplay. Its just another shooter banking on pretty graphics to sell itself.
Tapioca Cold  +   538d ago
Another article poorly written and littered with mistakes.

Why? Why? Why do I live in a culture of people that tolerate this?

"Third party game developers and investors are also expected to attend this event."

Really? No shit sherlock. They got the invites, not us.
black911  +   537d ago
You guys still haven't used the PS3 Full power yet. Developers are Lazy. We'll be using the unreal engine for every game just like this gen.
Tyre  +   537d ago
What are u babbling about? Lazy? get real. Developers are anything but lazy. Such comments make me sick.
