David Cage Is Kinda Right, Mostly Wrong On Game Violence

Here's why game designer David Cage’s recent presentation at the D.I.C.E. Summit succeeded in highlighting some of the problems with the game industry, yet still missed the mark. (Culture, David Cage, PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)

All he was saying is that the market needs more options, not the constant cloning of popular games ( and mutating in established games like FF , RE and DMC). Games like Journey and Walking Dead

Looking forward to Beyond , the Double Fine adventure game and hopefully more

The issue is with gratuitous violence with almost every game out there.

I think people look to much in to what he’s saying and take it as an attack on games they enjoy or that he's trying to make out QD are above your regular shooter.

What Cage is saying is basically he would like to see more games go in the direction of QD titles as it’s a market that hasn't really been tapped. Or to put it another way more options is good, here's one that you might not of tried.
