Skyrim: Probably The Most Overrated Game Ever - Here's Why

Game & Guide: "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the top games of 2011. However, it is not worth all the praise it has been getting and is truly one overrated experience. The only thing Skyrim seems to have is great graphics, and honestly, nothing else."

"I will no doubt get a million disagrees here by folks who are unable to see past what Skyrim really is, but that doesn't matter."

i think the ones who disagree with you actually liked the game, like me. but it is a matter of opinion i guess.

Other than the bugs that shipped with Skyrim(that really pissed me and the other console owners off, PS3 ones to be specific), it was/is a fantastic game.

The soundtrack was just amazing, especially the music in Whiterun.

Well, the writing and quest-design left a -lot- to be desired, but it's an Elder Scrolls game, so that's to be expected.

IMHO, Skyrim only failed in one respect--magic. No magic crafting, gimped spells, really ruined the fun out of being a mage.

Everything else?

Dear God: I honestly didn't think Bethesda had it in 'em.

they should make an article like " COD : The most overrated game ever "

aliengmr1241d ago

Title should be "Why I don't like Skyrim: The tale of a writer who couldn't think of anything relevant to write about so chose to offer an opinion on a game that was a year and a half old."

I love Skyrim and don't think its overrated, see I can do it too.

Why MW3 is the most overrated shooter ever. Skyrim isn't even close to overrated.

Hmmm, I do happen to think that as much as i personally love the game Skyrim is over rated, but not for any of the reasons cited in this article, well duh, the Dragon battles should be easy after you've, y'know defeated them and destroyed their leader!
I'm presently about 85 hours into my second character in Skyrim and if not for fast travel this game really would be insufferable, imagine doing all those menial guild missions on foot, you'd go mad.
I always compare this type of game to having a model train set or a garden, it's something you build up over time and tinker with when you've got nothing else to do, it's not super fun every minute you spend on it but it takes your mind off the real world for a while. Skyrim and other RPG's represent a world that makes sense in exactly the same way as a garden makes sense, there's a right and wrong way to do things, if you do something stupid there's usually a consequence and so forth.
