Borderlands 2′s Tiny Tina is Racist? Really?

Tiny Tina is a lovable and sweet little sociopath with a penchant for making things go boom and speaking ebonics to get her point across. There’s nothing new or innovative about a young white girl speaking in slang. White people have always taken portions of the Black community to make it their own. Clothes, music, language; its all been copied and white washed. Not to tell anyone what they can and can’t be offended by, but this isn’t that big of a deal and certainly not racist.

That little is is not racist. Can't judge her because she was raised by Roland and picked up his mannerisms to classify her being racist. That happens to anyone who is born in a certain culture. African child raised by Japanese family, speaking Japanese or a Caucasian child raised in the hood. Great post by the way.

What disgust me is how quick people are to think that the slang she uses is the only way Black people, like myself, talk. As a Black man I can't think of any of my Black friends or family members that talk like this on a regular basis. Piss me off and you will get some slang and a lot more. But guess what, I don't break into sing number while I normally speak. Now that I type it, I think that would be pretty fun actually.

I found the Tiny Tina character to be a funny character that had a surprisingly deep and dark past. All this is yet another case of "white knights" coming to the rescue and trying to protect people that don't need protecting and who aren't offending by this character. Certainly I am not trying to speak for all Black people, but there are a lot more racist stuff in this world than this character will ever be.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that most of us feel the same way you do. Tiny Tina isn't racist. Now, if she were Black...mmm....might be a little racist. Not alien robot transformers that somehow talk like they're from Compton racist....but just a little racist.
