Bethesda updated today the HD Textures Pack for Skyrim to include textures for the DLCs, but even more importantly, the indispensable Unofficial Dragonborn Patch has been released.
Its all the ENB mods.....anything other than that looks horrible. Vanilla skyrim is just the ugliest thing I have seen in years.
Actually I would say that ENBs are the least indispensible between mods.
least indispensable you mean? shows what you know! and 4 disagrees!??? seriously hahahaha wow people are hilarious!!! Just goes to show how much people are so tasteless and ignorant on this site.
Lol ENB series mod.BAHAHAHAH Ask anyone who is into colour correction/grading and theyll tell you how horrible enb mods are. Exces sblur, uncontrolled dof, over saturated, less midtones. Very crunchy contrasty look. Just to check if I remembered correctly I watched a couple of enb vids on youtube and yep i was right. Just the way I remember enb. Regardign taste, well ur point of reference for any taste is quite messed up if u like enb
I kinda have to agree. I'll at least say, there are many better HD texture packs out there. Also, it's funny that the title says "PC-Exclusive HD Texture Pack-" Lol, as if there was any texture pack, period, for anything other than PC. Wasn't really necessary to even bother saying that it was PC-Exclusive.
Ummm, I use ENB and this looks pretty damn good to me. Took this myself. If you think that looks "horrible" I'd LOVE to see your screenshots of Skyrim with these so called "better" mods. https://pbs.twimg.com/media...
The whole point of enb is allowing people to tweak it to their specific tastes. Personally I prefer a more vanilla look as well and have constantly worked on finding a balanced look that I think accents the game more than completely changes it completely. Some people though prefer a different look and that doesn't make them "messed up" any more than people that use any other mod that changes the game (for example I don't care for most UNP/CBBE style body mods and never have). Naturally there are several enbs I myself wouldn't use for the same reasons you suggested but again it returns to personal taste. Vanilla Skyrim, imo, is quite bland on its own quite often (color wise especially--just very drab) and at least we have an option to attempt to fix it on PC without going in and modding every object specifically. Personally I think minor saturation was needed to make it look a little better and a bit more contrast at times wouldn't had hurt--but all in moderation. Some people are fine as it was (I played it for months that way, moving on to RL mods and finally enb or mix). I could had agreed with much of what you said though till the last paragraph. Well, that and not all enbs are the same--some I like and some I don't. It is a pain to try to balance though which is why I began trying it in the first place--love the challenge and didn't care for way it acted during certain conditions. Its never going to be perfect under all conditions (without also modding in the CK) but to even suggest all enbs and those that use them are messed up is bit severe.
I used to use ENB but it was all too saturated if that makes sense. I used the RCRN which I would highly recommend
