That's a loaded question if I ever heard one. Capcom has pleased noone by trying to please everyone. Please Capcom remove the quick time events and other cheap deaths. Fix your darn in game camera. No need to draw out your story 30 hours for RE....Amoung other needed fixes. Edit: or give up.
Suggestion 2 needs to be burnt. Capcom have the staff to make a great survival horror as proved in games like Haunting Ground, they just need to set better goals in the genre. Instead of asking how are we are going to fit co-op in to this game, they should have asked how can we make the player even more alone and defenseless during the chaos. Don't try to scare gamers with budget, try to discover new ways to scare the gamer without raising costs. Using hoards of monsters is only scary the first time. Have much less enemies but make them harder to take down to punish gamers who runs in gung-ho and rewards those who have their wits about them. It will make the battles feel more personal which helps in immersion. Don't make mowing down enemies be the only way to survive the horror. Create a game where players feel badass for taking the stealthy route or manoeuvring through enemies without using a single short. And for Yevon's sake no more bullet dropping enemies. It feels like I am shooting pinatas rather than creatures.
