I remember rockstar also hyped gta4 saying its a amazing game and look how bad that game came out to be. Let me play gta5 first and than decide if is a good game or not
Except they didn't exactly disappoint with GTA IV. Yes, there are people that didn't like the more serious tone of this game, but overall, it was very well received by critics and main public alike. Regardless of the tone, it still felt distinctly GTA, and it was still an extremely well done game.
I too wasn't a fan of GTA IV. I thought the gameplay was very repetitive and the story was too depressing. GTA always had a mix of realism and comedy and GTA IV didn't really go above soviet emo. However, I have enjoyed the 3 previous GTAs and was bonkers for Chinatown Wars and Red Dead Redemption; also loved Bully. Rockstar has shown us they can deliver and I think GTA V will bring back everything we loved about the series, plus it's going to innovate the genre for future open world games like this. I am not worried. As Karmic said, it's R* not Square...Those jackasses have done everything to disappoint us on an almost weekly basis.
One Not as great game out of a series of some of the greatest open world games. So what? I'll play it and probably enjoy it. No one is forcing you to buy it.
Just GTA4 with much improved graphics ?? not interested even though it really does look impressive and the world looks interesting but once ive done the missions and been around the game world a hundred times i'm bored.
Much prefer games with skill like racing games and adventure games like Metroid or Zelda with puzzle solving ect and to be honest that Lego City looks more interesting with 290 different characers to collect ie firemen and fishermen to a robber all with slapstick humour and with DLC as u can see with the retail box it will prob be getting added missions and what not,i'll be happy on that game and it's out march ?
I know that I will be able to buy it on Steam, but I hope it comes with GFWL just for achievements, lol. I have the 360 and pc version of GTA 4 but I probably will not do it again with 5 because I rarely game on my consoles anymore, 360 or ps3.
Already per-ordered my copy. I just hope they make the Achievements a bit more attainable, seems like it took me forever to get a couple hundred Gamerscore on a lot of Rockstars games like GTA4 and RDR.

4 was ok, but a letdown in so many respects, but just from the way this one looks in screenshots has me excited to play and R* rarely disappoints for me so my expectations are pretty high already. I hope I am blown away because it looks like some big hitters are coming soon and next gen hopefully. So if they think it can hold a candle to next gen I want in for sure.
People loved GTA IV and as it aged then people started saying it was over hyped. BS man. People just love to hate the top games for whatever reason. Damn hipsters. I loved all GTA games. Good stuff. This one will be no different.
Here's a tip for devs: Try not to overhype your game by claiming something outrageous as "blow us away". Just let the media or player decide after we see a few more gameplay trailers or when we finished playing the game.
I didnt like the driving in gta4 it sucked bad. Also didnt like the way nico belic moved. didnt like that there wasnt much to do in the game. didnt like the cell phone and dates.
Gta4 was ok though and had some funny characters and moments and some epic moments and shocking ones to. I was bored in the game for a bit though. The online was pretty fun to but the trophies were lame.
LIke I keep saying. GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas were great games. I'm pretty sure a company like Rockstar knows how to learn from their mistakes.
I agree although I will say those are minor details to some great things about the game. Adding fast travel was a great leap over san andreas so it wasnt all bad. But I did bore of gta iv over time not sure why ... Need some brand new types of missions I think maybe time for environment destruction...
