Sly Cooper: Thieves in Times Review | EuroGamer

EuroGamer: "In many respects, then, Thieves in Time is a fitting successor to the PS2 titles: Sly Cooper games were always solid genre pieces first and foremost, where likable characters and decent mechanics masked a journeyman feel to some of the content, and the same is true here. Unfortunately, the rest of the world has moved on considerably in the intervening years, and so what starts off as a welcome regression quickly loses its verve. " (PS Vita, PS3, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time) 6/10

Comparing Sly 4's artstyle to Ninokuni. What a joke of a review but thats to be expected of eurogamer.

So does this invalidate Eurogamer's 9/10 Ni No Kuni review or do only the low scores equate to a joke review?

Again another review that thinks that staying true to a games roots is a negative now. The exact same thing is mentioned in the Playstation Lifestyle review.

As i said in that article i am finding it very difficult to fathom why that is the case for some games nowadays. Why can't a game stick to what it does best & be regarded for that, don't treat it as a knock on the game.

Watch Adam's review. He backs up every point he makes(as usual). The game has obvious problems that only a Sly fan would be able to look past.

God this website is absolutely pathetic, and this is coming from someone who has a PS3, the platinum trophy in Sly 1-3, and is buying Thieves in Time tomorrow.

Then again, I'm not a child either.

He doesn't back anything up with any facts because it's just his opinion at the end of the day and none of the other reviews and people who own the game(me included) agree with anything he's saying!!

"Win a Blu-ray Player or Die Hard Autograph"

OMG I don't know which one to choose, HALP!

Basically he marks it down because it's too much like the old games. So if you like the old games you will probably enjoy this.
I'll be picking up a copy anyway despite what the reviews say.

Yeah I agree. All that stuff is just what Sly Cooper is about. When Murry wore the disguise in the second Sly Cooper the only purpose it served was to fool the guards into letting him play the mini tank game. That is Sly Cooper. That is always how it has been. Not sure why people always want Sony's games to get a massive overhaul or jump to a huge evolution while everyone else gets away with murder. And when they give it a massive overhaul people tell them it should have stayed the way it was and that it is ruined now. They can't win no matter what.

RevieW not ReviewS, the other reviews are good!

Remember those really good platformers like Aladdin for Sega Genesis.

This game has that feel or look to it.

It sounds like he wants a game that he doesn't have to try at.

Well, if this game is good then it will sell well. I'm guessing it won't with so many bigger releases just around the corner.

funny how sites like Eurogamer give nintendo a completely free pass when it comes to rehashing platformer franchises.

they gave new super mario bros 2 an 8/10
new super mario wii 9/10
new super mario u 9/10
donkey kong country returns a 9/10
kirby's epic yarn 8/10

its ok for nintendo to retread the same ground they have been treading for 20+ years, but a sequel to a franchise that ended 7 years ago? apparently that has to be hugely revolutionary, otherwise its a piece of crap, regardless of its polish and competence.

if this game were released by nintendo, it would be receiving all sorts of praise.
