TERA Rising goes Free-to-Play tomorrow, but today we learned that the Valkyon Outfitters, TERA's in game cash shop, won't be ready at this time. What does this mean for the financial stability of this MMO? Is TERA making a grave mistake?
Might have to try this now that its F2P. I'm sure they will be working around the clock to get that shop up!
I really HOPE that they are. If they are approaching this with anything less than panic, I'd be disappointed.
I know there team is considerably smaller now than this past summer, but you'd think that they would have started development or kept key people to put a system in place if that was to be their new model. Good thing they're under new leadership. I'm still going to give them a chance.
No cash shop in place on a F2P launch? Odd. Someone must know something the rest of the industry doesn't...
"Odd" was exactly what my first thought was...
They're adding a cash shop. They just didn't meet their deadline to implement it so they can't launch it.
You'd think that if they're wanting to make the most of the "relaunch" under the F2P model that they'd really have made the changes around when the store would be done. Also, they must have seen the writing on the wall for this model, you'd think it would be ready by now.
Agree 100%. That's the point. If they want to succeed, this NEEDS to be in at day one.
They're probably under pressure to release this as soon as possible. It'd be crazy not to have a source of income from your new product. The cash shop is not ready. That is the logical conclusion. Either that or they turned into saints. What should we do: Wait and see.
I wonder about the European server, I played Aion F2P and the starter option was unplayable at level 20 onwards, you can't even buy things from the other people. Hope their TERA F2P is better.
