This weekend, many noticed something curious: some Halo titles were listed in the Steam registry. Some assumed this meant that these titles were coming to Steam. According to a Microsoft spokesperson, that's not the case.
(Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, PC, Steam)
Why would MS let Halo on Steam? Isn't there a Steambox coming out? It would be stupid of MS to have their flagship title on a rival console. I mean that the way I look at it.
Yes because of course they wouldn't deny everything if talks were not in final stages or if they were planning on a surprise announcement. This means nothing, just like the Steam list probably means nothing.
To be fair, that doesn't exactly mean that they are or aren't. This is Kotaku, but we should note what has happened in the past:
- Thing gets leaked - Thing gets taken down on basis that there are "no plans to do something like that". - Thing gets confirmed later on like it's some big surprise.
And...isn't Halo and Halo 2 already on PC in some way?
Source engine 2 announcement to stomp the consoles please ;)
