Capcom: RE6 'lost momentum' and failed to 'achieve planned sales'

Capcom said today that Resident Evil 6 may have debuted to strong sales initially but that the game then lost momentum. They had even more harsh words for the game, saying it 'failed to achieve planned sales' (Capcom, PC, PS3, Resident Evil 6, Xbox 360)

In trying to please everybody, Capcom pleased nobody.

Capcom and SE need to listen and respect the gamer community and use the feedback, not ignore us like we are not there and act surprised when the games bomb.

Well said.

Capcom needs to ask themselves why it didn't sell and take a gooooooood look at the game itself. It wasn't marketing. It was the game itself. They shouldn't be pointing fingers, they should just admit they made some mistakes and take care of it.

Go back to the roots(for real this time, not a mix of the roots and street fighter)

Good serves them right for trying to go after another fanbase.

and yet they still won't learn there lesson

They'll still try to please both fans...when really the fans they want aren't really fans at all

" Hopefully it can appeal to both camps. "

Even though their ideas are not working...they are stupid and too proud to admit they were wrong

it still sold 5 millions which says a lot to them. The RE franchise has massive staying power just like FF and it doesn't matter how good or bad the game turns out it will sell.

I dont know what was a bigger mess up. RE6 or DmC... DmC in style was drastically different (which is a reboots intention) but kept the combat somewhat similar. But RE6 seriously felt like CoD Zombies meets Gears of War. Im glad this game was a commercial failure overall. If the REboot rumors are true then i hope "the new games" play similarly to RE1-4.

Thanks for the demo Capcom. I was on the fence prior but playing it cemented my decision to Not but this game.
