Killzone: Mercenary – Behind-the-Scenes Interview, Single Player Details | PSBlog

Posted by Fred Dutton // SCEE Blog Manager -

For a series that’s always been at the bleeding edge of modern FPS design – both in terms of technical performance and muscular gameplay – it’s fair to say that expectations are sky high for Killzone: Mercenary – the first PS Vita entry in Guerrilla’s acclaimed franchise.
Until last week’s reveal, all the studio has shown off was a brief teaser clip at Gamescom last September. But earlier this month, in a very snowy Amsterdam, it finally took the wraps off the game, showing off big chunks of both the single and multiplayer modes.
And you can breathe easy – it looks absolutely stunning, packing all the visceral grit and gristle of its home console brethren into PS Vita with real style. (Killzone Mercenary, PS Vita)

good progress.. Im liking what theyve done with this title.. The previous shooters on vita looked & played terrible but this is something special thats evident right away.. I know they had to rush the last 2 but still.. Its better to give the devs more time to craft a gem than a piece of $hit just to make a quick buck

I still respect Neversoft for trying to port the COD Engine to the Vita. Stupid Sony forced Activision to have to release a game on November, so Neversoft didn't have enough time, so Activision was like fuck your attempts to port the COD Engine Neversoft and lets just bring shitty Nihilistic to do the job.

Damn Sony and Activision. I would have loved to see the COD Engine on the Vita. Now it seems Guerrilla is up to the challenge to show the true potential for a FPS Vita title. Cheers Guerrilla.

All of it could have been avoided too. Start planning a bit earlier next time. Launching a new console, Sony had to know they needed a game like CoD so they should have been on top of it.

Sony didn't force it, Activision just needed some quick cash.

Those games didn't look or play terrible. They simply lacked content & variety ... big difference.

Imo Res. burning skys didnt look terrible and the Bo vita graphics were def. COD all the way but hey thats my opinion.

Kz mercenary will be the best looking handheld game simply because thats what GG do they push those benchmarks!

I think the problem with cod black ops graphics where they were the same graphics, but on a very reduced scale, so they could and should have been a bit better considering the scale was smaller.

Covert mode has interrogations. Interesting, i wonder how that'll work.

I hope it's not flick the screen in many directions to beat up someone like the cutting bamboos in Uncharted Golden Abyss.

I would like the ability to choose pre-set texts with the d-pad and have different outcomes.

Damn I should work at Guerrilla.

I was thinking something like that :D Great minds think alike.

It looks absolutely amazing XD, i really hope the framerate holds up well. I've heard the multiplayer is pretty good as well considering the 4 v 4. According to the article it sounds like they added additional effects as well.
