GodisaGeek: "Congratulations to Namco Bandai, as their JRPG is getting a huge amount of love right now, not least from the UK public, who have purchased enough copies to have the game enter in first place, this week in the UK Charts."
(Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)
It makes me really happy to see people giving this the recognition it deserves. As for me, I'm going back to play some platoon, which I find is disturbingly addictive...I've been in the casino for 2 hours now.
Very good news. Beating Fifa is quite an accomplishment. Let's hope this chart mirrors the rest of Europe and (fingers crossed) America. I'd say a sequel is guaranteed.
VERY glad I pre-ordered. I had a feeling this would happen, so I plopped down the full price about 3 weeks ago. The guy in Galway said they really weren't expecting the demand at all.
Great news, bet microsoft are kicking themselves now they almost got level 5 as a exclusive dev once with true fantasy online but stupidly cancelled it and level 5 went back to make games for the PS2/3 and DS.
Awesome news, they really needed this to be successful in the West and it looks like their gamble paid off well. Hopefully, this shows Japanese developers that Westerners are hungry for good JRPGs.
I picked this up this weekend, and I have to say that after finally getting it at the forth store I went to and grabbing the LAST copy, I was pleasantly surprised at how well its selling.
that's awesome!! i'm really impressed with this game thus far there's certainly alot of content in this one the graphics and storyline are amazing hopefully this will be the "savior" of the jrpg genre alot of hope is being put on this game
You ought to have seen the price on Amazon UK skyrocket. 36 GBP when nobody cared, pre orders sold it out one day before launch --> 40 GBP, launch day --> 48 GBP, now it's at 60 GBP. Wizard's edition goes at 140 flippin pounds.
Since ive bought this game i have no social life. all i think about is leaving work and seeing what happens next. Its the same effect that the Souls series had on me lol
An awesome game with great game play graphics and content.
Currently i have recovered all the mornstar jewels and just left perdida!!!!!
good.. Games like this need more sales & i hope tales of xillia gets the same attention.. Then the vita versions have a better chance @ getting localized
According to VGChartz (take it for what you will) the game also did really well in the US. By there numbers Ni no Kuni did 140K the first week which is not to shabby for a new IP & a JRPG.
Hopefully this result proves to Bamco that they should localize more of their games.
Being able to knock off COD off the number 1 spot is pretty impressive.
help me.
Of course it beat FIFA. Fifa released in September and has pretty much sold to the Fifa market.
Ni No Kuni just came out. Naturally a new game will outsell a popular game released 6 months ago in a single territory market.
Would have liked to have seen the number of units sold. That would have given a better idea.
With that said it's great to hear that Ni no Kuni actually managed to top the charts in the UK.
It's sold out in Ireland so I have to wait. Cannot believe I needed to preorder a Jrpg in this day and age
so highly in demand again. A masterpiece of a JRPG at that.
Love the game voice acting for both Japanese and English is amazing cept for Oliver in english he sounds like a c*nt.
Good job.

it was worth pre-ordering.
Hoping there will be many more Ni No Kuni games down the line!

Are gamers fed up of shooters?
Then Ni No Kuni is the Trojan Horse of JRPGs in the west today.
I hope it has open the flood gates again!
but still VGChartz and DmC are crap XD
