Far Cry 3: The First Person Shooter Genre Perfected.

Excerpt:

"The reviews poured in like gobs of lye, scorched hair and fat through a drain, after a successful overnight disposal of an accidentally deceased prostitute on a nightclub in Bali. Though people did explain their minor disgust with the initial framework and setup for the story[1]. And there was discussion about the gratuitous nature of the violence; how the entire premise of the game was, perhaps, slightly too much of a racistic, misogynistic, disgusting, outrageous and ridiculous white power-fantasy, even for a first-person video-game.

And thanks to the truly dedicated who played the game to the end, there was a comment or two on how the ending was a bit unfulfilling as far as narcissism-simulators go. A magazine even did a feature on this slight irregularity, with an interview from the lead writer, since the author of this piece thought the game was “a little off”[2]. Here is a game, after all, that would be thoroughly offensive in every way, if it was not wrapped i... (Culture, Far Cry 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I dont agree, looking through building to see characters outlines beats the puprose.
Fun game, but dont get crazy.

did you read the article?

It has nothing to do with the game mechanics.

Read it, it's a great article

I dont agree with the topic, why should i read the article, get trolled in ?
I learned a long time ago that to the contrary to what is being told, not every opinion is equal.

I know this is an extremely difficult concept for a lot of people, but simply reading the title doesn't qualify you to agree or disagree with the content.

As you yourself said, not every opinion is equal, and your opinion in this case is invalid.

The topic name is a statement, i do not agree with the statement and i gave the reason why, build on a foundation of logic.

My opinion in invalid because you don't agree with it?
Thats women logic, so you my friend, are dismissed.

:D ..actually didn't mention Far Cry 3 in the title, or in the piece until towards the end on purpose. To make sure it's just an example of what happens when shooters become more narratively consistent, in the specific way Far Cry 3 is.

So I kind of agree with people who read the title here and rolled their eyes :p

Looking through buildings to see enemy's was a great feature especially when taking over bases, it's not a perfect game but its dam close!

Hmm, while I don't think Far Cry 3 perfected the genre, I believe it nearly perfected "nodal objective markers", by allowing us to comfortably roam the island without being overtly shoved back to the objectives. Overall, the thrill of clearing an outpost undetected cannot be undervalued, and it may be the most fun I've had in a shooter in a long time.

Lol this game is overhyped. Just a damn game nothing that delivers that wow!!! factor.

This game was so underwhelming, so repetitious and empty that i put it down after about 7 hours. I wont get into the mp aspect its atrocious.
