metal gear ground zeroes will be previewed at ps4 unveiling on feb 20 and i cant wait.

Godchild10204092d ago

Where did you get that information from?

On Topic, I played the demo and enjoyed it. But I'm at the point where I won't buy it for the gameplay but for the cutscenes and story.

Ripsta7th4092d ago

Raiden Better have an epic story!!!!

Nimblest-Assassin4091d ago

Honestly everything about Feb 20th is rumor and speculation till that day. I'm personally expecting wonderbook 2 so I don't get disappointed.

On note.... even though Im getting rising, I wish the original concept saw the light of day

SAE4091d ago

100% with Nimblest-Assassin . i would give you bubble but if i could i would steal from you . nothing personal :P

i loved the first version more then this. it looked way more interesting and more serious because of the engine and because of how raiden cut ..

but im still gonna buy mg rising even before release date :D .

Nyxus4092d ago

It is a possibility, but nothing has been confirmed as far as I know.

Donnieboi4091d ago

Didn't your parents teach u not to lie and spread rumors?

Ripsta7th4092d ago

Dont get your hopes up, they could unveil Gaikai instead of the PS4 n wait to reaveal it until E3

BitbyDeath4091d ago

Gaikai is software, the reveal (whatever it is) has to be hardware as investors are going.

Gaikai may be shown with said hardware though.

@Godchild

"I played the demo and enjoyed it. But I'm at the point where I won't buy it for the gameplay but for the cutscenes and story."

Interesting stance. So pretty much you didnt the like the actual gameplay?

Godchild10204091d ago (Edited 4091d ago )

I enjoyed the gameplay. It's the cutscene at the beginning of the demo that really had me really interested.

I'm a big fan of story driven titles and the beginning of the demo had me wanting more. I knew the gameplay would be great because of Platinum's previous games, but I was unsure about the story due to the little info I knew about the game/story after the watermelon TGS 2010 trailer .

ThanatosDMC4091d ago

I hope Raiden isnt that OP in the beginning of the game. Parrying and slicing is too easy except the random dagger throw. I hope we can upgrade. His katana is more useful than the explosives in the demo.

Love the cinematics. It's all ready Kojima quality. Also, how come Snake didnt have a cool holographic computer compared to what Raiden had? Is this before or after MGS4?

Nyxus4091d ago

Rising takes place in 2018, four years after MGS4.

ThanatosDMC4091d ago

Ah, i see. Thanks for the info.

yami9304091d ago

The demo of Rising had a good number of combo moves and other unlockables things that are rewarded / purchased later in the game already available for you to give you a more in depth feel and taste of the gameplay and demonstrate what you will be allowed to do to get you interested. Plus, if you play on harder difficulties not available in the demo, enemies are harder and can be a bit different (as in having more armor, parrying you, and fighting more often than just standing around). Upgrades are supposed to be a big part of the game as well (although I'm not sure about the explosives getting better, but I have a feeling there will be something down the line for them, I do know however there are other types of explosives you find later on which can be more useful). Plus, the demo is a pretty old build, been around for almost 5 months so I'm sure the final build will be a little more polished and feel a bit different.

ThanatosDMC4088d ago

I'm not just talking about combos. It felt like combos are used only for bosses. I would prefer it if the insta-kill gauge wasnt always full and last so long. It would be better if the ability is rewarded to the player after building it through the combo system instead of eating it via spinal cords. It's easily exploitable and makes the player impossible to die (unless they suck at not seeing attacks coming).

I'm just saying I feel overpowered because of the parry ability that let's me block everything. I really hope they do adjust it on release. I'm looking forward for this game being my new Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden hardcore game.

I also hope that they nerf the amount of HP we're getting from grabbing spines. 100% heal for every enemy we kill almost makes us immortal. There's absolutely no need for health pickups with this system. I highly doubt anybody that played the demo ever died unless they did not understand the gameplay mechanics.

I also highly doubt any explosives available in the game would be as useful as the katana... I hope they add more melee weapons instead of projectiles or explosives.

I hope they also add some sort of endless survival mode in the game. It can be done in the VR training. I understand it's a demo but there wasnt enough enemies to kill and the boss battle was easy... but then again I'm used to games like this and it's so much more refreshing than that crap DmC.

For everyone who's unaware, Kohima practically made the story and everything non gameplay related to rising. So rising will be as official in epic story telling as msg4 was if not better ;)

Metal Gear Solid Can Work Without Hideo Kojima

There are more good non-Kojima Metal Gear games than one would realize. Scientifically, three examples prove a trend, and in this feature are three excellent Metal Gear games that Hideo Kojima did not direct.

I hope so, still cant forget MGS Survive , the first MGS game without Kojima involvement and it was a complete failure, the thing is Kojima way of thinking is outside the box and that's why their games 99% end up unique, original and a almost instant classic. MGS series are full of intricate things that somehows connects to each other, Lalulilelo, the Patriots, Outher heaven, Foxhound, PMCs , heck even Kojima manage to insert DARPA in there lol, a US government Defense Agency. So is really great MGS3 Remake is reviving the series but without Kojima who knows of the end result, I hope Konami have another or more developers insight their studios who can also think outside the box.

senorfartcushion319d ago

It actually can’t. But it won’t matter.

Kojima is Metal Gear the same way that Christopher Nolan is The Dark Knight, or David Lynch is Twin Peaks: The Return episode 8. Artistry is the creation of a thing from your own thoughts and feelings. Take away the original artist’s thoughts and feelings and you have a new thing entirely.

This isn’t going to stop the mega corporation creating a fake version and spending millions TELLING customers that it’s made with the same thoughts and feelings. The masses will buy the idea the same way the corporation will sell the idea.

just_looken318d ago

I guess everyone forgot metal gear solid rising was tossed to platnium games with a story script and that is it.

Z501318d ago

Kojima was involved in Rising tho

just_looken317d ago

kpjima just did the story everything else was platnium games look it up.

Hence i said script

neutralgamer1992318d ago

i think the bigger issue is whether or not Konami is actually interested in fully funding AAA games development. Even this remake is done by a studio not really known in gaming industry. Quality remake/projets vs cheap cash in quick releases. Which way will Konami head. I am a huge MGS fan and i feel like Kojima did long time MGS fans dirty with how made MGS5 and it's story elements

senorfartcushion318d ago

Remakes and remasters provide a gateway through to producing AAA games faster and cheaper.

RaveTears318d ago (Edited 318d ago )

Actually MGS Portable Ops which was technically the first canon MGS game that Kojima wasn’t mainly involved with it. Kojima was only the producer but not the writer and director.

Konami did other MGS spin off that were successful but that because Konami put effort. Just along Konami is not lazy and cash grab, they can a MGS game without Kojima.

i mean sure, but he made it the thing it is today and why people love it so much.

i think its not easy to replicate.

Flawlessmic319d ago

I doubt it could.

Say what you want about the bloke, but his games are uniquely his.

I don't think anyone makes games like kojima does, for better or worse.

Could mgs continue without him, yea maybe, but it would lacking his genius so wouldn't be the same.

Soulsborne319d ago

Well , he already created it. They just have to recreate it? Not like its a new concept or IP. Trash article.

Terry_B319d ago

Yes. It only needs motivated clever people.

Why We Need Metal Gear Rising 2

Demand for a sequel is about to skyrocket, like the good ol' days of 2013!

In case you're living under a suspiciously rock-shaped object, the recent PlayStation Showcase revealed that a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 will be coming, alongside a Master Collection of Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3. While it is a remake of an existing game, there's a great deal of significance to it, considering the last time a game in the series came out was back in 2018 with Metal Gear Survive (and the less said about that, the better). Konami's decision to pull a Konami and feud with series creator Hideo Kojima has long left the fate of Metal Gear uncertain, but this recent announcement has led to all bets being off as to where Metal Gear can go from here.
