DO IT!!! I love the series. Play the first Dead Space with the lights off and the sound system on. It's fun.

Loved the original Dead Space but the new one looks more like Gears of War so they've lost me as a fan. It's the same crap that ruined Resident Evil so I've no interest in supporting the death of another great franchise.

but its not. The demo and what they showed doesnt really represent the whole game
dgonza40  +   727d ago
^ that's what a demo is supposed to do, represent as much of the game as possible.

"It's the same crap that ruined Resident Evil so I've no interest in supporting the death of another great franchise."

Someone understand and gets it

Seriously if the same thing happened to another horror franchise then use your common sense and have a guess what will happen to Dead Space

of course there will be more people playing the demo
it's just natural because there were millions more consoles sold since DS2 was released and many people are curious about the changes DS3 is bringing to the table. doesn't mean sales will double too!

I think the game will be good but it just won't be a horror game.

It'll be like RE5, which I enjoyed immensely. It felt more like a cheesy badass next-gen Contra game than a Resident Evil game, but it was good. I had a blast playing it with my friend and beating the game twice in one (very long) sitting.

I'm not the kind to dislike apples because they're not oranges. If the game is different from the past titles, it doesn't mean it will be bad. I approached DMC with that same mindset but it turns out the game was awful in my opinion. Not because dante had black hair, but for a whole lot of other reasons that made the game uninteresting. People should just judge games for what they are. The title that is slapped on it is not important.

maybe cause people are playing it coop.

ba-dum-tsss

Really though, the amount of people playing the demo is not completely relevant. It's largely based on the success of the PAST games, and on curiosity.

It's only once they've downloaded it and played it that they form an opinion on it

You can look at it a lot of ways. I think a BIG reason for the bump is due to the changes. SH fans want to see how different it REALLY is and action fans want to see how different it REALLY is. If this is indeed true, then I would say that is quite troubling news... it would imply that a LOT are unsure of Dead Space 3 and this could largely impact sales.

Thing is though, the amount of people playing the demo doesn't equate to game sales.

I've played loads of demos in the past, but I haven't bought every game.

It is a positive sign however, but I just hope Visceral/EA stays grounded and appreciates its core fan base.

This is bad news for anyone involved with the game, as the demo was awful. Complete lack of tension and the action is standard fare. Loved the first two, but doubt this will even get a rent.
StrawberryDiesel420  +   727d ago
stop exaggerating, the gameplay feels very similar to Dead Space 2.
JP1369  +   727d ago
Which was never a contender in the shooter category. It worked in past games because the nature of it added to the tension, which is now gone due to the environment and level design. The mummified necromorphs aren't especially terrifying and I can't imagine facing foes that are armed with weapons themselves will do anything for the horror.
The series has become more action oriented but it doesn't have the mechanics to make that an enjoyable experience.
Next time, either ask me for clarification about the specifics of my statement before making stupid comments, just shut your mouth altogether while you work on your reading comprehension.

It's like the RE4 effect

Dead Space 2 (RE4) was great so more people have pre ordered the sequel (RE5) because they think it will be just as good....how wrong they will be
supersonicjerry  +   727d ago
DS3 seems awful compared to what DS2 is. They lost me as a consumer I was hyped then I played that demo. OH GOD WHY?
ThanatosDMC  +   727d ago
I had the same reaction.
Treian  +   727d ago
wait for the game to come out first please
StrawberryDiesel420  +   727d ago
I know right, the backlash has been pretty absurd and unwarranted since the last two games were great. People really love to hate.

Loved the demo just played it today.
