"Minecraft is one of the most successful games of this generation, topping the XBLA and PC charts with its huge amount of sales. However, the game has much more to offer than just continuous updates and an infinite world. " | Explosion.com

I personally believe that game was a lot better whenever it was in alpha/beta phases. They have changed and added in things that just doesnt make it seem like minecraft, to me at least, anymore.
Still is enjoyable for those who like to build things and explore a little.
Yeah.. tried it like 3 or 4 minutes.. and didn't understand the point of the game.. can someone explain to me the point of the game? the true objective of it. Do you have to conquer something? or beat something? does the game have a story? or NPC's? At least I couldn't find any... If minecraft were a creater for games... like RPG Maker!! It would have a meaning... create games!!
First suggestion would be play it for more than "4 minutes"
I felt the same way. Watched someone play it, touched it for a minute, and hated it. Then you get it and spend a good hour in it and you get addicted to it.
There are NPC's, monsters, and the point is to build something while still surviving the monsters and hunger. You also have to explore and find food, all while being creative as you do it.
You can't think of it in terms of what other games are trying to achieve. It's as simple as that. If you can get past the lack of any sort of narrative or artificial structure, then you can start having fun just collecting, surviving, planning and inevitably shaping an entire world out of the simple core mechanics provided. You can create your own objectives if you absolutely feel like you have to cross a finish line, but more than anything, you just have to break the habit of assuming that the game is going to be a "competition" in the first place.
About minecraft, yea it's chaning and I havent played minecraft in like 3 years so..idk. All ima say is making a game more complicated might have a drawback, im not sure.
Also, I'm surprised they didnt put minecraft on ps3 first rather than xbox (unless they were paid /bribed by m$) Because the ps move makes more sense than the kinect does.
minecraft isnt on the ps3 why is it in this section?? although i do own the game which is why i clicked the link. still definitely in the wrong category
Minecraft is like legos in a video games (but a lot more advanced). If you think of it that way, you can understand it more. There is no last dragon boss to defeat or village to save from an oppressive ruler.
It's not for everyone, but for a certain crowd, it has appeal.
That being said, it bored me the 1st 3 minutes.

Seriously though, why'd you come here to post about a game that doesn't interest you?
I'd compare it to lego. It can be as fun as you make it out to be.
