It has recently been announced that the Prince of Persia series will be put on hold. While there isn’t mass disruption as a result from this decision Ubisoft has made, there are still some issues for long-time POP fans alike.
ubisoft really needs to finish the story to pop08 or at least make a proper PoP game, forgotten sands was mediocre, maybe they should just sell the franchise to someone that cares, because they obviously dont.
Don't even mention Forgotten Sands it was horrible, that installment was just made to cash in on the film which was coming out, instead of making a movie tie in game they forced in a story in the Sands of Time trilogy to get some quick cash. Even the princes face in that looks totally different, similar to Jake Gyllenhaals in the film. Seriously they should continue the PoP 208 story since it ended on a cliff hanger in the DLC. I want to see where Elika is going, will the Prince follow her, what will happen to the world with Ahriman free and will they find Elikas people
i agree, though forgotten sands for the wii was actually good, but the main versions just ugh, and im a little afraid for the 2008 game, i think the reason they put the series on pause is because they want people to forget about 2008, mainstream media better ask them about what happened to that and ubisoft better not sidestep.
No, it wasn't. The Forgotten Sands was a good game, not a masterpiece but it wasn't medicore.
I thought Forgotten Sands was just a crap movie game? I honestly didn't know it was supposed to be an actual game....
yep,it take place after sands of time but every verion is deiiferent PS360/pc is the typical crap version,ds is boring, psp havnt played that one, but surprisingly the wii version is the best story wise and gameplay wise.
i'll actually have to play it then. This whole time I thought it was just the movie game lol.
I just don't understand why a series that's being release 2-3 years apart is being put on hold but Assassin's Creed, a series being released every year and sometimes twice a year (Example AC3 and AC Liberation for Vita) isn't being put on hold. I mean I understand that the series is huge for Ubisoft and it makes them a ton of money but You can definitely tell the series has been slowly going downhill, in terms of quality, ever since AC2.
Because AC sells millions while PoP stopped selling millions after the PS2 era of their games.
"I mean I understand that the series is huge for Ubisoft and it makes them a ton of money but You can definitely tell the series has been slowly going downhill, in terms of quality, ever since AC2." I know, I said that in the comment lol.
Funny thing is AC started of as a POP spinoff called Prince of Persia: Assassins That was what got me into the franchise... since I loved the POP games on gamecube. But yeah, I want a real POP game AC needs a break to rethink ideas
***I know, I said that in the comment lol.*** Just answering your question on why they release new ACs every year. It really is just about the money. Nothing else.
Agreed. After AC3, and all the yearly releases, they need to give the series a break. This would be a perfect time to either reboot Prince of Persia, or give us a sequel to PoP08, which I personally enjoyed.
Pop sands of time is a much better game than any of the assassins creeds. Shame they have done this to their best franchise.
Man I love Sands of Time. The puzzles, the combat, the acrobatics/platforming and the wall run...DAT WALL RUN. So legendary.
Its not the first time Ubisoft made a mistake. I love POP. However they did this with Rainbow Six too. Put it on hold for Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell, even though its the best shooter.
Yep rainbow 6 is the best shooter and the lack of new info of late is starting to concern me. I want R6P sooooooooo bad.
Oh Ubisoft stop toying with my emotions you ruined the series with forgotten sands. Please if your going to make another please do a good job with it and don't rush it.
Gameplay wise AC was muscling in on PoP's style. They were getting too similar. PoP was better though...
