Arguing Against Realistic Violence

1UP - Why the leap in technology over the past decade has turned one gamer off certain series.

I'm entirely the opposite. Realistic violence in video games is what makes it fun and interesting for me. But Please, don't think that I'm some sort of sicko that likes to watch videos of real people getting beheaded and murdered. I don't watch that stuff.

I dont understand why videogames are affecting people's real life morals so much. Its an ESCAPE from the real world..no matter how realistic they try and make it. We can still pause the game, restart missions, regenerate health, turn off the game when we are tired of it and come back later. 3 yeas from now we can play COD Black OPs and itll be the same exact story and missions. Thats not real at all. Games have a looooong way to go before they start feeling morally wrong to play them...get over it. Movies have real actors getting killed(fake) and it hasnt recieved nearly the same backlash. And we watch them on story tall screens with uber surround sound in 3d.

I think The Last Of Us has the most realistic violence in gaming and it actually means something, it shows how terrifying surviving can be.

Golden Axe is a great game I enjoyed it on the SMS, Genesis and in the arcade. Great game but it truly was a quarter eater back in the day. I wish Sega could get the rights to the arcade port of Moonwalker another great arcade game I enjoyed. Collect so many monkeys and become Robo Michael lol.
