'Fighting on top of giant living beasts is something we've already done in God of War 3. It's no less impressive in Ascension, but it's clear that this latest God of War game is missing a certain "wow factor" from the lack of an especially new gimmick.'
I don't know about the game but this review just gave me the 'WOW' factor. Nothing on any platform, PC, 360 or Wiiu comes anywhere near this game in graphics, animations, gameplay or excitement. Those who own different platforms will bury their head in the sand and pretend otherwise, but they're just in total (and I don't use this word likely) 'denial'.
This game is why I bought a PS3. It's why I'll buy a PS4 and it's why Sony are unbeatable in development. That might sound like the usual hyperbole that the typical fanboy would spout -- perhaps throwing in the obligatory 'day one' or 'awesome' -- but it isn't; it's simply the fact of the matter.
If anyone dare mention the word 'unimpressed' after watching the recent 30 minute opening gameplay, then I suggest they take up another hobby because quite clearly gaming isn't for them. I simply cannot believe the author of this piece has had the audacity to write the above.
Yep. I paused that several times and let my imagination go wild. This is extraordinary. This is NEXT GEN. I can't see ANY 3rd party developer matching this level even with the first and second generation games on the PS4.

Kratos gets tricked by the gods (yet again)" Kratos isn't even serving the god's in Ascension not yet anyway, does this idiot even know it's a prequel and that he's chained up because he broke his oath to Ares? as was explained in the bloody intro of the game that he supposedly played... *sigh*
This loser wouldn't last 2 minutes in Kratos,s world, he should be impressed by the sheer manliness displayed in the game that is lacking from this mans life.
