GamesBeat: God of War: Ascension explores Kratos’ humanity through compassion, smirks, and upskirts

Kratos, the God of War, is more than just some mindless killing machine. The truth is, he’s angry for a reason — developer Sony Santa Monica plans to explore that theme and the warrior’s more compassionate side in the upcoming God of War Ascension for the PlayStation 3. (God of War: Ascension, PS3)

I don't like this new emo Kratos. I think this is what they were referring to a few months ago when they discussed less violence against women in the series.
We will take it for now Santa Monica, but don't pull this emo crap next time.
There is no way you are going to convince me that after 5 games of sexing all kinds of spartan woman, crazy violence, murder, and death that Kratos has a heart.

Man I hung my head when I saw Kratos crying in that live action trailer, I said to myself "ooh no god, what the hell are you doing Santa, Jaffe must be pissed."

Anyway can't wait for the game.

you are missing the whole point, Santa Monica is trying to show us the reasons behind Kratos becoming the raging maniac we all know and love.

I bet you GOW Ascension is gonna be another masterpiece, no worries at all.

Did you play the psp games? Or did you notice how Kratos began to care for Pandora in GOW3?

I think the main point of the series is how Kratos has more and more horrible shit happen to him until he just becomes a monster. It was all those things that made him eventually just despise everything. Remember, this game takes place before most of that. I really wouldn't call it emo though, it sounds like the part of Kratos that is "nice" is still going to be really minor.

God of War: Ascension is the most prominent prequel. That is all that should need to be understood. Damn.

Seriously, after 5 games, if you have not realised that Kratos does indeed have humanity within him (as evident in every single one of the games at some point) then you clearly have not been following the story at all.

Yeah my favorite relationships Kratos had through out his journeys is with Pandora and Deimos. He cared about both of those characters like they were his own family.
