Good kinda half way thoughts. I've heard from a few diff places that it has a slow start, but what rpg doesn't have some setup time. And it's only slow gameplay wise it's first couple hours, story wise it picks up fairly quick.
Points for honesty for the reviewer who admits he's just played 20 hours so far and bases his review on that. Big gaming sites don't have enough balls to do that anymore...
I'm about 13 hours in and I'm really enjoying this game. I think the pacing of the game is great. I don't have any other recent JRPG in memory that has done it better. Other than the beautiful graphics, the battle system is what I love most. It's addicting. While I haven't been forced into grinding yet, I think I'll be able to get some fun out of it when the time comes. IF you enjoy video games outside of COD, buy this game.
This has to be the best JRPG I've played since DQ VIII. It's terrific. And it looks absolutely stunning.
