Yep a ton of rumors are stating that the 720 will be designed for casual gaming with Kinect 2 integration and an extremely heavy operating system designed for delivering services.
But this is all from rumors so i really wouldnt believe any of it until Microsoft shows off the 720.
It's hard for me to say since I never expected this from Sony, but I doubt MS would do it casually. They also aren't likely to try and upstage this teaser for the time being. They'll let Sony have it's time in the spot light, because they, and we, all know that when MS is ready to announce they will get much the same hype.
Well when your investing tens of millions you don't do things based on knee jerk reactions. Both manufacturers will have concrete plans in place for when and how they'll show off their new hardware. It depends how the dates fall, they won't simply wait for the competition then react.
Depends what his definition of "go first" means, really.
If he talks interms of "info about final tech, pricing and launch date" then probably he'll wait before announcing it. But interms of "going first" to announce a new console.
Heck the smartest thing would be to announce it first, and as soon as Microsoft announces theirs, then Kai could make another announcement for the specs and pricing. It would go back and forth and the attention would be evenly spread between the two.
There would be no need for "i'll wait til they go then i'll announce" argument. That stuff is more for kids rather than CEOs.
Kaz has already said that they will let MS release first. Makes sense because Sony is set on their own business plan and the release of the 720 won't change anything Sony has already decided in the PS4 hardware wise.
Announcements,E3,etc are fun for us here to watch.But in the end it only matters what do you deliver at launch.Will people shell out like $600(console + few games+extra controller,etc) or not?

People need to stop saying this. I get that we're all waiting for the "real" next gen consoles but just chill out, pay attention and have fun speculating.
I think the fact that Rockstar came out of nowhere and announced the GTAV september release might have had something to do with Sony making the move the next day.
I have no idea what the connection might be... Anyone?
I also have a feeling that the "delay" of GTAV was super awesome news to Sony, great enough to make them pull the triger on the new generation so early. Perhaps this is what Sony's been waiting for, and as soon as GTA's late release was confirmed, they were greenlit on PS4 and wanted to make sure the go first with the hype!
Other than that, my bet is that PS4 will launch a YEAR from Feb 20 - late Feb 2014

I think they will only show tech demos and that's it.
