Ghostbusters Review (AppAmped)

AppAmped writes: "I grew up loving the Ghostbusters movies and then, later on, hating the game tie-ins that were released. When I heard that Beeline Interactive have decided to release yet another Ghostbusters game, I didn’t have high hopes from it. But did the latest Ghostbusters game, released on iOS for iPhone and iPad, manage to kill the curse and deliver an actually pleasant experience?"

New Ghostbusters Game "Definitely Happening" Says Ernie Hudson; Confirms Involvement

It looks like a new Ghostbusters game is on the way, and Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zeddemore in the franchise, is part of it.

I hope it’s like the one that felt more like Ghostbusters 3 and not like the twin stick shooter one.

KingofBandits856d ago

Id love a sequel to the last full console game, that isometric one not so much. I would like to see some bigger funding behind this, using UE5.

sourOG856d ago

Yes. I’m kinda glad that the new writers can’t come up with anything original. It paves the way to my favs

MrBobSugar856d ago

Imagine how cool an open-world RPG Ghostbusters game would be.

VTKC856d ago

Yes yes! More like the game made during PS3 xbox360 era where you play as the new recruit getting to try out Egon's new experimental weapons and go along with the original cast for the adventure. And make it fully co operative through the story please. Would be so much fun playing together, actually teaming up with tactics or roles in catching ghosts. Each character could have different abilities.

Friday the 13th: The Game Developer Ilffonic Working on a Ghostbusters Game

Illfonic, the studio behind Friday the 13th: The Game, Predator: Hunting Grounds & more, are working on a new Ghostbusters game!

CrimsonWing69932d ago

Can it not be an asymmetric multiplayer game? Like I’m all for a co-op experience but these guys seem to focus on making stuff like Evolve except they somehow acquire these awesome movie IPs.

jznrpg932d ago

Yeah I don’t care for Evolve formula . I’d love to play a Friday the 13th game like Nintendo had back in the day but I just don’t have the interest in MP 99% of the time .

Nitrowolf2932d ago

Yeah if it’s following the same 4v1 formula no thanks. I think it’s time for Illtonic to ditch that and try something new.

They get big licenses and TBH they do put a lot of great details into the games, but they never are as big as one hopes for them to be. Also usually very buggy

BlackDoomAx932d ago (Edited 932d ago )

I hope it will be. They are good at it.

sourOG932d ago

Ghostbusters is one of my favorite movies, I was hyped until I saw the developer. The 4 vs1 model isn’t my jam.

"The latest mainstream Ghostbusters video game was Ghostbusters: The Video Game, which was originally released back in 2009, and developed by Terminal Reality. It was re-released for the PS4, Xbox One in October 2019."

Funny how you forgot to mention is was also ported to the Switch I own the Switch copy. Multiplayer I am not a big multiplayer person campaign co-op I would be down busting ghosts with a friend. I am curious to see how they will pull it off since the passing of Harold Ramis. Will they use the kids from the movie trailer, will they use a future cast like the Extreme Ghostbusters. Will they use the Ghostbusters from the cartoon you throw in the 4 women Ghostbusters and I will pass on the game that was the shittiest Ghostbusters movie ever and a waste of cash.

i am not too hyped with the asymmetric multiplayer part. i hope they just do something like a singleplayer game with co-op on the side.

Ghostbusters Remastered is the Ghostbusters III We'll Never Get

This Ghostbusters video game, originally released in 2009, is by some distance the most ambitious and best attempt to ever recapture some of that film's magic in another medium. This remaster arrives just over ten years later, and doesn't much touch the original beyond a welcome sprucing-up of the visuals. What it does do is add a shine to an experience that, with the benefit of hindsight, we can see was a one-off.

Wait isn’t a third film being made anyway?

JonTheGod1642d ago

Yes, but that's more of a 'passing of the torch' type film. This game had all actors in their original roles doing a full-on script.
