It's funny that a 7 year old console is more powerful than the Wii U, judging by the graphics in this game.

For tech savvys, how is the Wii U's cpu compared to the ps3's?...

This is what Nintendo has done the last 3 console gen. Gamecube we on par with current-gen expectations. The Wii is a Gamcube that uses the same tech with a 50% boost in performance to the CPU, GPU, and RAM. The Wii-U is basically a Wii with improved tech that uses 3 Wii CPU's boosted nearly 50% in performance, 4x the RAM of the PS360 (Wii-U 2GB shared vs. 512MB PS360), and a GPU that's slightly more powerful than the PS360.

The problem is the Wii-U is significantly slower than the PS360 thanks to so poor calls on speeds of RAM and the CPU. The RAM isn't as big of a problem simply because there's more to pull from (still slow), but the CPU is what holds the Wii-U back. The Wii-U and 360 CPU's are both Tri-Core processors (3 cores), but the Wii-U runs a 1.243 GHz while the 360 runs at 3.0GHz. However, the 360's can do dual threading which makes it a pseudo 6-core CPU while the Wii-U is stuck at 3-cores. Obviously 6 is better than 3, and that's really what it all boils down to. You can push a lot more data out of the 360's CPU than you can the WIi-U which will prevent it from ever living up to it's potential unless they purposely under-clocked the CPU by a large amount.

Not really, I think the poor graphical performance is thanks to the gamepad, the Wii U needs to render what's in there too.
