While many people want to see Black Ops 2's DLC release on the Wii U, does it make sense for Activision to do so with such a small online player base?
Said player base can grow. It just needs the support that can attract more players. Besides, isn't supplying DLC fairly inexpensive if its already been made? so it's not exactly outside the realm of reality for them to strengthen support on the Wii U side of things and have a stronger userbase for next year's COD game. Just my two cents though.
so what if it's a small install base at the moment, it will grow. and DLC should be available to all platforms regardless. it's only been out a few months on WiiU, i would be more worried after a year or two if it was still at that level of players.
So they should just lose money on the DLC? The player base will grow but it doesn't look like it will grow all that much. I mean, Xmas only added like 2,000 players
they'll make money on DLC, but they wont lose it?? and if their gonna make a decision to release a game on a certain platform then by right's they should back it up with their new content.
i will never get this game . .redemption is where its at!
just because you dont care about black ops 2 dlc doesnt mean the rest of us dont. its a new console of course its not gonna have as many players as the others but is that a reason to treat us wii u owners diffrently? also i read from a treyarc admin that it isnt based on the ammount of players. there getting everything ready to get dlc on wii u. pleanty of other wii u games have dlc like assasins creed 3. just give them time.
its free for them to do dlc and updates on wii u.on ps3 and 360 they have to pay to do it. so it shouldn't be a problem. ac3 sold less then c.o.d. on wii-u and it got both dlc packs.
What the...? O_o Journalists these days...
No it's fair to ask the question. Really even on the 360 the main problem I have with DLC on many games, is that it's hard to find a game when with the content. Considering BLOPS2 Wii U has about 1500-2500 people on it at any given time, and the number appears to already be dropping, and a few of the game types at any given time are unpopulated, imagine what it would be if they released DLC. I'd love for them to release a free Nuketown DLC. But I've been thinking about any DLC upcoming and how it would be pretty much impossible to find a match. Maybe team deathmatch as it seems 60-70 percent of the population plays team deathmatch. When you go to say domination or demolition there's usually only about 30-80 on domination and 0-40 on demolition. So does anyone really want to buy DLC for BLOPS2 on Wii U? I would want to, but it's hard enough to find a game with the stock maps. I don't think the playbase is going to grow. It's dropping. Next year? Sure. Probably be a lot better next year. But this year that ship has sailed. Sure it would be 'nice' for it to come out, but to what effect? You're really not going to get your $$$ worth when there's maybe 0-2 matches using it going on across all the game types. Odds are it won't be a good ping, and only during certain hours. I'm sure they could bring it out, but will people be more pissed off that they spent $15 for something they can't use? That's a real concern.
it more then makes sense as wiiu is the only next generation console out and 3 million and counting ahead of the competition and the install base will only grow and activision unlike haters realize that its a business
If you gimp a version now, that new install base willing to continue to support newer versions of the game later on. Nintendo customers remember when they get screwed over by third parties, so its not in their best interest to gimp the Nintendo versions...if anything they should be adding extra content not on any other consoles to get more customers in !
