What Do Next-Gen Consoles Have in Store for FPS Franchises?

Written by Kurt Dwyer: "First reported by Charlieintel, it appears that Activision has sent out a new survey to get feedback on the future of the Call of Duty franchise. The revealing details of the survey are limited, but it does imply that Activision is looking at different delivery methods open to its series that next-gen consoles could provide. " (Next-Gen, PS4, Wii U, Xbox One)

i want to see people playing online with virtual reality graphics

4k

1200 fps

no loading

5000 players in one room

i want physics so good people on the battlefield could get shot in the leg and your charector would have to limp.

where you can develop dust on your suit.

you can spit in someones face in a match.

you can just injure someone and take there weapon and chase them and make fun with that.

I think that the FPS is the most inflexible genre these is. I can't see there being much more to offer other than more happening and better graphics.

Making it look nicer? There's only so much that can be done with the FPS genre at this point. Unless devs want to go back to making an endless supply of WWII shooters.

It is RUMORED that the next call of duty game or whatever it will be named will use unreal 4 which would be crazy for call of duty

And Better A.I. NPCs that play more human and are able to roam the whole world without relying on Scripted events but on a predetermined (programmed) personality in response to the Player's playing style.

Graphics is a given.

My hope for the future of the FPS genre is Activision going bankrupt, and then a long long time without any major FPS releases. Yeah. That would be for the best.
