Resident Evil producer: Next-gen devs should focus on gameplay, not graphics
Studios developing games for next-generation consoles should "focus on the games themselves, and let the additional graphics power be an amazing bonus," Resident Evil: Revelations producer Masachika Kawata has told VideoGamer.com.
(Dev, Industry, Next-Gen, Resident Evil Revelations)
i want virtual reality graphics with 120 frames a second 1000 people in a map all running in 3d with no lading, 4k resolution, and no framedrops or anything.
PCs aren't doing that, let alone consoles. That is how you properly say that sentence. Your way makes it sound like if consoles can't do it then no way pcs can
Pretty sure this is a joke, but the closest thing to what you said is the Oculus Rift coming out for PC which apparently is very immersive for new VR tech.
"In terms of graphical differences between the two games, it's fair to say that there aren't any of real significance - certainly nothing that might affect a purchasing decision: both run at 1024x720 resolution with 2x multi-sampling anti-aliasing (MSAA). Vanquish is a spectacular-looking game that throws out an astounding assortment of effects and the overall look is exactly the same on both platforms. Just about the only issue we did notice on a consistent basis was a difference in shadowing, which seems to favour PS3. In these shots you can see shadowing that's either omitted completely or else suffering from "shadow acne" on the 360.
The only really noticeable difference between the two versions comes down to the implementation of shadows. What appears to be an offset bias issue adds 'acne' to some areas of the 360 game, and looks to remove some shadows in the distance altogether. The fact we see these differences at all is somewhat bizarre but it does suggest a slight difference in shadow offset bias, something that we have seen occasionally on other titles (Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360 perhaps being the most extreme example).
In all other aspects, the two versions are effectively a match. We compared a range of comparison shots from across the game and saw nothing to suggest any real differences in artwork quality, aside from one rogue screen that demonstrated higher-quality texture LODs on the Xbox 360 - most likely an aberration bearing in mind that nothing else could be discerned from any of the other shots."
You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Platinum never made the PS3 port of Bayonetta but they did develop both Vanquish and Max Anarchy in which they ran perfectly fine. The PS3 was the lead platform for Vanquish.
"Just because a new console is released doesn't mean that it's a sound business decision for us to rush to move everything we're doing over to those consoles. There's still some life in the current generation, and there's still some time. Obviously, they're not out yet, but there isn't even a firm release date for those consoles, it's all industry rumours at the minute.
This guy kinda has the point... Not 100% of people who got PS3/Xbox360/Wii will switch to the new consoles, they can't afford it
And it takes years to know the entire map of the hardware to be able to push it's maximum
Yes! With the power of next-gen console and easier architecture I think everybody will be able to achieve decent graphics more easily (35%) and just focus on the gameplay more (65%).
Okay, fine. Do that. Then we don't need new consoles. Just make games around gameplay instead of graphics. The only reason to need new consoles is to make games look better.
For once in my life I agree with Capcom! Gameplay is the most important part of a game. This is the main reason as to why I keep coming back to games like Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Super Mario Galaxy, Bayonetta, Xenoblade, etc. and others like ZombiU and DarkSiders I&II where most of the gameplay worked well.
RE:velations if the best RE since the almighty 4.
Get over it.
this some serious info.
Gameplay FTW. That's why my favorite games of all time are back into PS1, PS2, and Nintendo Consoles.
take a walk outside and go to a very busy area. I'm sure you will see what your looking for;-)
But really... who can even notice 120fps?
120Hz - Check
3D - Check
4k res - Check
1000 people would be like a MMO, but soon enough there will be other genres with that amount.
:D
