Imagining Eternal Darkness 2 Wii U

Eternal Darkness: Sanity Requiem was one of my favourite Gamecube games. The amazing story, interesting game mechanics and the insanity effects made this game an instant classic in my books. Fans like myself, have always cried for a sequel, especially since the true ending suggested they may well be one. So far our hopes and pleas have fallen on death’s doorstep. I'm just playing it on my good ol' Gamecube for the first time in my life right now, and i can definitely see why people love this game. It was really good for its time, but it's one of those franchises where i fear it would fall through if a sequel came out today, unless the SK really changes things up.

I still can't get over the fact that it says "Nintendo Presents" in the intro cutscene. It's so surreal, but i wish we saw it more often with dark games like this.

I always thought a good and new insanity effects would be using the WiiU Gamepad's camera

To transform your image- or animate your image.

Or maybe you hear ghastly laughter coming out of the gamepad, so you look down and you see yourself and then another person appears behind you.

You'll have to complete it 3 times to see the true ending. but don't worry it's worth it and there's enough of a change in some things to go through it 3 times, new cut scenes, enemies ect.

You have to play 3 Times playing as each faction/color.

I think the gameplay would have to be changed just due to the years that the story spans, making the story in a sense finite or encapsulated.

If they re-tweak the formula of the game I would like them to borrow from Heavy Rain and ZombiU.

Like the story itself, small contributions from each character resulted in victory, it would be nice if they could make the role of a person in the time line dependent on your skill in controlling him.

If they die, someone else takes up the cause and either the task switches to a new point in time or to a contemporary.
It would be great if the task became harder depending on what you are or not able to accomplish with each toon.

Included in the mix should be a less linear format.

I also think it would be nice if they include some of the Wii's Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Psychological profiling in the game. This way the game could use insanity effect or change in accord to your do. (i.e. Creatures in SH would change in form in accord to what you spent time looking at.)

Eternal Darkness is a MUST have game....I sold my Copy years ago and picked it up on E-bay for my old Wii last year and played it through again. This is one game WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE MISSED OUT ON. Lights down surround up! Yes, it would be great on Wii U, even if they just did an HD remake with added insanity affects and updated play mechanics. Oh yes, this game is one of the best.
