Iwata on third-party collaborations for Wii U, willing to actively team up with partners

This is nothing new. They said this before the Wii U was ever released.

He said they will go out and seek exclusives but if a developer approaches them, they will see about making a deal or partnership.

Really Nintendo??? Because many of us signed the Operation Death Lives petition online for the big N to partner with VIGIL Games so that Darksiders 3 would be Nintendo exclusive and to keep that talented team together, why didnt you do that? They were auctioned dirt cheap too...

The business doesn't work like that. Keep in mind that Darksiders 2 was supposed to sell a lot across three different platforms and it failed to do so DESPITE how good it turned out to be.

If you're a company, you're not just going to buy a dev because of one niche game that people enjoy, you buy them because they can help you make more profitable content.

Besides, members of Vigil were hired to work at Retro Studios. So you sort of got what you wanted, no?
